MemberVault does not currently track refunds in the affiliate system.
If a purchase that generated an affiliate commission is later refunded, MemberVault does not automatically remove or reverse the affiliate commission.
Because of this, we recommend reviewing your refunds separately before paying out affiliate commissions.
What does the affiliate report include?
MemberVault provides reporting showing each affiliate's sales and commission amounts. However, refunds are not included in the affiliate reporting.
When you pay your affiliate commissions, you'll want to cross-reference your sales/refund records before sending payments so you can account for any refunded purchases.
Example: If an affiliate generated $500 in sales but one $100 purchase was later refunded, you'll want to account for that refund when calculating the commission you actually pay.
If you're running a promotion with a refund period, you may want to wait until that period has passed before paying affiliate commissions. This gives you time to review refunds and make any necessary adjustments before sending payouts.
