Date Selector

A deep dive into how to use this component wisely.

The Date Selector allows you to define the time period displayed across your Mentionlytics dashboards, reports, and analytics components.

Accessing the Date Selector

You can find the Date Selector at the top of your dashboards. Click on the current date range to open the calendar menu.

Available Preset Ranges

Mentionlytics offers several predefined date ranges for quick access:

  • Today

  • Yesterday

  • Last 24 Hours

  • Last 7 Days

  • Last 30 Days

  • Last 60 Days

  • This Month

  • Last 3 Months

  • Last 6 Months

  • Last 12 Months

Simply select any preset option to instantly update your data.

Selecting a Custom Date Range

If you need a more specific period:

  1. Open the Date Selector.

  2. Click the desired start date on the calendar.

  3. Click the desired end date.

  4. Verify the selected dates at the bottom of the calendar.

  5. Click Apply.

Your dashboard and reports will refresh automatically using the selected date range.

Comparing Date Ranges

The "Compare To" option allows you to compare your current date range against another period. To use this feature:

  1. Enable the "Compare To" toggle at the bottom left of the Date Selector.

  2. Choose the comparison period.

  3. Click Apply.

This feature helps you identify trends, measure performance changes, and analyze growth over time.

In the Reports Section, Compare to Past is NOT supported from the date selector. Report components have a "Compare to Past" option, so you can enable it from the report builder.

Navigation Tips

  • Use the left and right arrows to move between months.

  • Use the month and year dropdown menus for faster navigation to specific dates.

  • Click Cancel to close the Date Selector without applying changes.

Best Practices

  • Use shorter date ranges (e.g., Last 7 Days) for monitoring recent activity.

  • Use longer date ranges (e.g., Last 6 Months or Last 12 Months) for trend analysis.

  • Use the "Compare To" feature to evaluate campaign performance and audience growth over time.
