Recommended Permission Setup for Agencies Giving Client Access to Paige

Learn the permission setup we recommend for agencies that want to give clients or team members access to Paige while keeping the account simple, secure, and easy to manage.

Written by Justin Silverman

Paige is built to make reputation management, reporting, images, citations, and other local marketing tasks easier for your agency. For most agencies, we do not recommend giving clients direct access to Paige unless there is a specific reason they need it.

Instead, Paige is designed to contact your clients by email when something is needed from them. This is usually much easier for your clients because they do not have to learn a new software platform, remember another login, or ask your team for help navigating the system. That said, if you do want to give a client access, we recommend keeping their permissions very limited.

Why we usually recommend keeping clients out of Paige

As an agency owner, giving clients access may seem helpful at first. However, it can often create extra work for your team. When clients log into Paige directly, they may:

  • Get confused by settings or tools they do not need to use

  • Ask your team for extra tech support

  • Misunderstand what Paige is doing for them

  • Forget to log in when something needs attention

Paige is designed so your clients do not need to manage the software themselves since it's usually sold as a service not a software by agencies. When Paige needs something from a client, such as review approval, image input, or other requested information, Paige can send them an email instead. For most clients, this is much more convenient than asking them to log into another platform.

Recommended client permission setup

If you decide to give a client access to Paige, we recommend only giving them access to the areas they actually need.

All other screens should be set to Hide.

This gives clients access to the essentials without showing them the automations, settings, billing information, integrations, users, or other behind-the-scenes tools your agency uses to manage their account.

Recommended setup for agency team members

Agency team access tip:
If you want someone on your own team to have full access to Paige, but you do not want them to see billing or white label information, give them Edit access to everything except Billing and White Label. Set Billing & White Label to Hide.

The Add GBPs permission is important for agency team members because it allows them to add more businesses to your Paige account. It also allows them to sign up for citations and buy NFC cards. If you want a team member to help with account growth, onboarding, citations, or NFC card orders, make sure Add GBPs is set to Edit, understanding it means it enables them to add charges to your card on file.
