The Portal is your academy site: one public place where learners browse your courses and learning paths, open them, sign in and follow their progress. Instead of sharing a separate link for every course, you share one branded site.
The Portal replaces the Showcase page. Your Showcase content is now the Home page of your portal, so nothing you built is lost.
Your portal comes with:
A Home page you design with blocks, like any landing page.
A Catalog page that lists your published courses and learning paths.
An About page and any other pages you add, for example FAQ or Contact.
A header with your logo and menu, and a footer with links and social profiles.
SEO and social sharing settings.
A sign-in for learners and a My account page with their progress and certificates.
Where to find it
Click Portal in the left-hand menu of the admin. The page has five tabs:
Tab | What you set there |
Landing page | The design and content of your Home page. |
Navigation | Your pages, the menu and the header. |
Footer | Footer links, social profiles, colors and copyright. |
SEO & sharing | Title, description, keywords and the image shown when your portal link is shared. |
In-app authentication | Code for embedding the portal in your own product. |
ℹ️ Your logo, favicon, primary color and font come from Workspace › Branding. Set them there once and they apply to your portal, courses and learning paths.
Your portal address
Every portal has a default address. You can see it in the address menu next to the Landing page title on the Landing page tab.
To serve your portal from your own address, like learn.yourcompany.com:
Go to Workspace › Custom domain.
Add the CNAME record to your DNS and enter your subdomain.
Under Opens by default, choose Portal.
Once the DNS check passes, your custom domain becomes your portal address. See Customizing Links with Custom Domain (CNAME) for the DNS steps.
ℹ️ Only one domain can open your portal. Other domains can still open a learning path or a course.
Design your Home page
Open the Landing page tab.
Open Get started with a preset, pick a preset and click Apply. Click Revert original if you change your mind before applying.
Click Edit landing page to open the page editor.
Add, move and edit blocks, then click Save changes.
The editor shows your portal header and footer so you can see the full page, but you change them in the Navigation and Footer tabs.
💡 Add a Catalog block to list everything you offer with search and filters, or a Continue Learning block so returning learners pick up where they left off.
Pages and menu
Open the Navigation tab. Under Pages & menu you see every page of your portal and every link in your menu. Drag rows to reorder them, and use the Show in menu toggle to show or hide an item in the header.
Your portal starts with these pages:
Page | Address | What it does |
Home | / | The first page visitors see. The logo in your header always links here. |
Catalog | /catalog | Lists your published courses and learning paths automatically. |
About | /about | A sample page. Edit it or remove it. |
My account | /account | Only signed-in learners see it. It shows their progress and certificates. |
Sign in | /login | The Sign in button in your header. Turn it off to hide the button. |
Click Edit page in a page's ⋯ menu to open it in the same editor as your Home page.
Catalog and My account fill themselves with your content, and you can add your own text, images or FAQ around them.
Add a page
Click Add › New page.
Enter a Page name, for example Contact. The URL fills in from the name.
Choose whether to Show in menu, then click Create and edit.
URLs can use lowercase letters, numbers and dashes. An address that's already used by another page or a course can't be reused.
Rename a page
Click Change label in the page's ⋯ menu. Your own pages and the Catalog move to an address that matches the new name, and the Catalog keeps working at /catalog too. Home, My account and Sign in keep their addresses.
Add a link to another site
Click Add › External link to point to your blog, website or help center. Enter a label and a full address starting with https:// or mailto:, and choose whether it opens in a new tab.
Header settings
Below the list you'll find the header settings, with a live preview:
Show header: turn off to hide the header on portal pages.
Background color and Text color. If the text would be hard to read, you'll see a warning with a suggested color.
Sticky header: keeps the header visible while learners scroll.
Logo size and Text size.
Show breadcrumbs: shows the path to the current page above the title on learning path and course pages.
Footer
Open the Footer tab. The footer appears at the bottom of every portal page. Turn off Show footer if you don't want one.
Links: click Add to link to one of your portal pages or to any address, such as your privacy policy, terms or a contact email. Drag to reorder.
Social profiles: add LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Notion, Discord, WhatsApp or Telegram. They show as icons on the right side of the footer.
Appearance: logo, text size, background and text colors, and the copyright line. Leave the copyright empty to hide it.
SEO & sharing
Open the SEO & sharing tab to set how your portal looks in search results and when its link is shared:
Page title: shown in the browser tab, search results and social posts.
Description: a short summary of your academy.
Keywords: separate them with commas.
Social image: a 1200×630 image shown when your link is shared.
Click Save when you're done.
ℹ️ These settings apply to your portal pages. Learning path and course pages keep using their own name, description and cover image. The favicon comes from Workspace › Branding.
How learners sign in
Learners click Sign in in your header, enter their email and type the code they receive. If they don't have an account yet, one is created for them. After signing in they return to your portal, and My account appears in the header.
On My account, each learner sees the courses and learning paths they've started, their progress and their certificates.
💡 Signing in to the portal doesn't change who can open what. A paid or invitation-only learning path keeps its own access rule, so learners still go through that step when they open it.
To rename the button, for example to Log in, click Change label in the ⋯ menu of the Sign in row. The address stays /login.
Share your portal
Share your portal address on your website, social media or in emails. To link to one course or learning path inside your portal, open its Share tab and copy the Portal link. The Direct link opens the page on its own, without your portal menu and footer.
Every published course and learning path is listed in your Catalog. To keep one out of it, turn off Show in portal catalog in its Share tab. It stays reachable by its links.
Embed your portal in your product
If your learners already sign in to your own product, you can embed the portal there so they don't sign in a second time. The In-app authentication tab gives your developer the code to create a signed link on your server and embed it in an iframe. The embedded portal opens without the header and footer.
The steps work the same way as for learning paths. See Enable access with in-app authentication for the full guide.
⚠️ In-app authentication is available on the Headless plans. The code contains your secret key, so it must run on your server, never in front-end code.
FAQ
What happened to my Showcase page?
It's now the Home page of your portal. Your blocks and content carried over, and your old Showcase link keeps working.
Can the logo link to my own website?
Not yet. The logo always opens your portal's Home page. To send visitors to your main site, add an External link to your menu in the Navigation tab.
Are sign-in emails sent from my own email address?
Not yet for the portal. Portal sign-in codes are sent by Mini Course Generator. White label email is set per learning path today, so codes sent when learners open one of those learning paths use your address.
Why don't I see my menu and footer when I open a course?
You probably opened its Direct link. Use the Portal link from the course's or learning path's Share tab to open it inside your portal.
Can I hide the header or footer?
Yes. Turn off Show header in the Navigation tab or Show footer in the Footer tab.
Can I have more than one portal?
Each workspace has one portal, with as many pages as you need. If you have more than one workspace, each has its own portal. Switch between them with the workspace selector at the top left of the admin.
❓ Please reach out via the Blue Chat bubble in the bottom right corner of your screen if you have any questions about your portal.
