Sometimes you will need to hold an order until the receiving party is ready to receive the goods (could be for specific booked-in delivery dates with larger retailers etc.). The system has an automatic process to do this in Orders Overview that will prevent the order from getting dispatched until the required day.

Important: You cannot set an order to Pack and Hold without first allocating the required inventory. Inventory allocation is a prerequisite for the Pack and Hold status.

Mark an Order Pack and Hold

To mark an order as pack and hold, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Orders then Overview.

  2. Tick the order(s).

  3. Select Mark Pack And Hold from the Bulk Actions drop down.

  4. Click GO.

  5. You will then be asked to enter a dispatch date.

  6. Click on the box Despatch Date and a calendar will appear.

  7. Select the date you want and click on the GO button.

Manual Release

If you just want to hold the order indefinitely – enter a release date far in advance, and you can then manually release it from Pack and Hold from the order overview page when the time comes. To manually release an order from pack and hold, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Orders then Overview.

  2. Tick the order(s).

  3. Select RELEASE - PACK AND HOLD from the Bulk Actions drop down.

  4. Click GO.

Releasing Pack & Hold Orders

The system will automatically revert the order back to its original status at 6AM on the day you selected previously.

Transitioning Between Pack and Hold to Backorders

When you need to move orders from Pack and Hold to backorder status, follow these steps:

  1. Check Inventory Allocation: Review whether stock is still allocated to the orders in Pack and Hold. If stock is allocated, the system will treat the orders as fulfillable.

  2. Release Inventory: Unallocate inventory from the orders to move them out of fulfillable status.

  3. Update Stock Quantities: If there isn't enough actual stock available, update your stock levels in Mintsoft to reflect the correct quantity.

  4. Enable Backorders Setup: Once no stock is available and your system's backorders setup is configured, the orders will automatically transition into backorder status.
