You can configure the system to automatically add products to orders when certain conditions are met. This feature helps you implement promotional strategies and ensure necessary items are included with specific orders.

Common use cases

Automatic additional items are useful for:

  • Free gifts with every eBay order over Β£50.

  • Free batteries when remote control toys are ordered.

  • Special packaging for fragile items.

  • Promotional leaflets with every order.

Note: Linked product rules run before order rules.

Value and channel-based rules

Additional products can be added to orders based on order value, number of items ordered, and the order channel. To set up value or channel-based rules:

  1. Click Settings then Additional Order Item Rules.

  2. Click Add.

  3. If you're a 3PL, select the Client.

  4. Select the Channel or keep as ALL.

  5. Select the Product to add.

  6. Optionally, select the Shipping Zone if the rule is specific to certain countries.

  7. Set the Minimum Order Value and Maximum Order Value.

  8. Set the Minimum Number of Items and Maximum Number of Items.

  9. Set the Quantity of the additional item to add.

  10. Optionally, enable Update Order Value if there's a cost associated with the additional product.

  11. Optionally, enable Display Price For Line Item to show the additional item's price on order documents.

  12. Click Add.

Product linked rules

If the rule depends on specific products being ordered, you can set this at product level. To add a linked product rule:

  1. Click Products then Overview.

  2. Search for a product.

  3. Click Actions then Edit.

  4. On the Defaults tab, click Linked Product Rules.

  5. Select the Product to add.

  6. Set the Quantity to add.

  7. Optionally, enable Apply once per order if you want the rule to apply only once regardless of product quantity ordered.

Apply once per order

By default, for every unit of your initial product ordered, the system adds the corresponding quantity of the linked item:

  • Example 1: If 10 units of your initial product are ordered with linked item quantity set to 1, then 10 units of the linked item are added.

  • Example 2: If 10 units of your initial product are ordered with linked item quantity set to 2, then 20 units of the linked item are added.

To limit this behaviour, enable the Apply once per order toggle when creating the rule.
