How to Perform a Hard Refresh (Fix Editor Glitches in Minvo)

If you're experiencing issues like:

  • Captions freezing

  • Edits not updating

  • UI elements not responding

  • Timeline changes not saving properly

A hard refresh can often resolve the problem instantly.

Unlike a normal refresh, a hard refresh clears the browser’s cached version of the page and forces it to load the latest version directly from Minvo’s servers.

✅ When to Use a Hard Refresh

Use this method if:

  • Captions stop updating after edits

  • Effects don’t appear after applying them

  • The editor looks visually broken

  • You’re seeing outdated project changes

🔄 How to Perform a Hard Refresh

Important: Clicking the "Refresh" arrow on your browser address bar is not a hard refresh. Here's how you can clear your cache through a hard refresh on any browser:

🌐 Google Chrome

Windows:
Hold Ctrl and press F5

Mac:
Hold Cmd (⌘) + Shift and press R

🌐 Firefox

Windows:
Hold Ctrl and press F5

Mac:
Hold Cmd (⌘) + Shift and press R

🌐 Safari (Mac Only)

  1. Go to Safari > Empty Cache
    Or press Option (⌥) + Cmd (⌘) + E

  2. Then refresh the page by:

    • Clicking the refresh button in the address bar

    • Or pressing Cmd (⌘) + R

🌐 Internet Explorer / Microsoft Edge (Windows)

Hold Ctrl and press F5

🧠 Why This Works

Browsers store temporary files (cache) to speed up loading times. After updates or long editing sessions, cached files may conflict with the latest version of the Minvo editor.

A hard refresh:

  • Clears outdated cache

  • Loads the newest version of Minvo

  • Fixes most temporary UI and syncing issues

🚀 If the Issue Still Persists

If a hard refresh doesn’t solve the problem:

  1. Close and reopen your browser.

  2. Try an Incognito/Private window.

  3. Test a different browser (Chrome is recommended).

  4. Contact Minvo Support with:

    • A short screen recording

    • Your browser and operating system

    • The project link (if applicable)

A hard refresh is quick, safe, and resolves most temporary editor issues in seconds.
