What is Shopify's Checkout Extensibility Feature
Shopify's Checkout Extensibility is a feature that makes it easier for Shopify Plus merchants to customize their checkout process. Checkout Extensibility includes a powerful suite of platform features that allow merchants to make code-free customizations to their checkout, provides integration with ShopPay, a collection of developer tools for advanced customizations via apps, and enhanced security.
💡Note: Checkout extensibility replaces the need for checkout.liquid. Any Shopify users that currently customize their checkout with checkout.liquid will need to upgrade to Checkout Extensibility. Upgrading requires replicating any required checkout.liquid customizations in Checkout Extensibility using the platform features and developer tools.
Installing MNTN Conversion Pixel for Checkout Extensibility
Merchants that have upgraded to Shopify's Checkout Extensibility will need to follow the steps below to properly install MNTN pixels in the Shopify store:
1️⃣ Navigate to your Shopify Settings.
2️⃣ Select Customer events.
3️⃣ Click Add custom pixel.
4️⃣ Input a name in the Pixel name field and click Add pixel.
5️⃣ Copy and paste the MNTN web pixel code in the Code box and click Save.
💡Note: The web pixel code required to connect Checkout Extensibility is different than the conversion pixel available in your MNTN account settings. Please reach out to the Platform Experience Team or your Customer Success Manager to receive your unique MNTN web pixel code to copy and paste into the Code box.
6️⃣ Click Connect.
7️⃣ Shopify will present a warning popup. Click Connect on the pop-up module.
8️⃣ Verify the pixel name and confirm the status is Connected.
