By enabling tasks in WeMind EMDR, you can effectively engage your client’s working memory. These tasks can be either active or passive, depending on your needs.
There are two types of active tasks:
Visual Task
Auditory Task (Audio Random Interval Repetition)
Visual Task
In the visual task, the client must focus on a ball that changes shape. When the ball transforms into a cylinder, the client is required to press the down arrow key (on desktop) or right button (on tablet/mobile) as quickly as possible. This is an active task because the client must remain attentive to both the moving ball and its shape change.
Auditory Task
In the auditory task, the client responds by pressing the spacebar (on desktop) or left button (on tablet/mobile) as soon as they hear a sound. The goal is to react quickly to the auditory cue.
Distraction Tasks
Distraction tasks allow you to introduce additional distracting sounds to further load the client’s working memory. The client does not need to respond to these sounds; however, they create a challenge by making other tasks more difficult.
