When you use Base Rate Automation (BRA), Moovs calculates deadhead mileage (the distance your vehicle travels to and from a trip) to help price your reservations accurately. Previously, every vehicle's deadhead was calculated from your company address.
Now, you can assign each vehicle to its own garage location, so deadhead pricing reflects where that vehicle actually starts and ends its day.
Why This Matters
If your fleet operates out of more than one location, a single company address can throw off your pricing. A vehicle garaged across town (or in another city) will have very different deadhead mileage than one parked at your main office.
Assigning a garage location to each vehicle means:
More accurate deadhead calculations for every trip
Better pricing that reflects each vehicle's true starting point
No manual adjustments needed once garages are set
How It Works
Each vehicle can be assigned to a specific garage location instead of always using your company address.
BRA deadhead pricing automatically uses the vehicle's assigned garage location when calculating mileage.
If no garage is set for a vehicle, it defaults to your company address, so nothing breaks if you'd rather not set one.
How to Set a Garage Location
Go to the vehicle you want to update.
Open the Optional Info tab.
Find the Garage Location selector.
Choose an existing garage from the dropdown, or select "Create New Garage" to add one right from the dropdown.
Save your changes.
That's it. From now on, BRA will use this garage when calculating deadhead for that vehicle.

Plan requirement: This feature is available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
Shared garages are efficient: When multiple vehicles share the same garage, Moovs deduplicates the underlying distance calculations behind the scenes. This keeps your pricing fast and consistent across your fleet.
Optional, not required: Vehicles without a garage simply fall back to your company address.
