Cannot find the Cliniko API key?
In Cliniko, click your name in the bottom-left corner, open My information, then scroll to API Keys. If API keys are not enabled, Cliniko will ask whether you want to enable them. Click Yes, then choose Add an API key, name it Motics, create it, and copy it immediately.
Cliniko only shows the API key when it is created. If you no longer have the key, create a new one and paste it into Motics under Settings > Integrations > Cliniko.
If you cannot see API Keys in Cliniko, your Cliniko role probably cannot create keys. Ask a Cliniko admin or practice owner to create the key or grant access.
OS migration note for Cliniko and Nookal users
During the Motics OS migration, some Cliniko and Nookal integrations need to be reconnected with the clinic's API key. This is expected and does not mean your Motics account, sessions, notes, or EHR data have been deleted.
If Motics shows an authentication error, missing credentials, disabled integration, or asks you to reconnect Cliniko or Nookal, go to Settings > Integrations, open the relevant integration, re-enter or verify the API key, save the connection, then retry the push.
Overview
The Motics ↔ Cliniko integration lets you push any session note you create in Motics directly into the correct patient file in Cliniko. Once configured you can:
Send live or historical notes to Cliniko as treatment notes.
Pre-select a patient before you start recording so the note is ready the moment you finish.
Preserve text formatting (headings, bullet lists, bold, etc.).
