Push a Summary to Meddbase (including Referrer Letters)

Written by Dr. Harvinder Power

Overview

Push a Motics summary into Meddbase as a clinical note or a Referrer Letter with proper addressing and optional CCs. Motics validates key details to reduce failed pushes.

Before you start

  • Open Integrations → API Keys and add your Meddbase Client ID. Enable the Meddbase integration.

  • Link the session to the correct patient, or ensure patient context is available.

Step‑by‑step

  1. Open your session
Generate, review, and select the correct Version of the summary.

  2. Click Push → Meddbase
Select a template type (clinical note or referrer letter).

  3. For referrer letters
Select a referrer contact with at least one address. Optionally choose a key person, adjust salutation, and add CC contacts.

  4. Submit
Motics sends the document to Meddbase and records a push log with timestamp and response details.

Validation

  • Referrer contact must have an address. If missing, add one to the contact before pushing.

  • We prevent incomplete pushes and show clear messages when required details are missing.

Troubleshooting

  • Authentication errors: Confirm your Client ID is valid and the integration is enabled.

  • Missing referrer address: Add at least one address to the referrer contact in Motics.

  • Network or timeout: Retry. The push attempt is logged for audit and support.

Best practice

  • Keep letters concise and specific. Use Specific Instructions in the session for targeted requests (e.g., “Please arrange MRI of the left knee”).

  • Maintain an up‑to‑date Contacts list for referrers and CC recipients.
