Before you purchase
Open Phone Agent > Settings > Business and complete the business profile. Some countries require regulatory verification before numbers can be purchased. Wait until the selected country's verification status is approved when the purchase screen says verification is required.
You must also be below the active-number limit shown in Phone Agent > Phone Numbers. The limit can vary by organisation.
Choose the right number type
The countries and number types shown in the purchase dialog are the options currently supported for your organisation. Depending on the country, you may see:
Local / Geographic: a regional number. Choose an available area code that matches the clinic or the area you want callers to recognise.
Mobile: a mobile-format number. This can be useful where a regional area code is not required.
Toll-Free: a number that is free for callers, where supported.
Number inventory changes. A preferred area code or number type may not be available even when it appears as supported. If purchase fails because inventory is unavailable, try another supported area code or type, or contact Motics support.
Purchase a number
Open Phone Agent > Phone Numbers.
Select Purchase Number.
Choose the country.
Choose the available number type.
For a local or geographic number, choose or enter an available area code.
Review the estimated monthly cost shown in the dialog.
Confirm the purchase.
The price in the dialog is an estimate for the number itself. Your invoice, order form, or commercial agreement is authoritative if it contains different or additional terms.
Connect the number to an agent
Find the new number in Phone Agent > Phone Numbers.
Connect it to the intended Phone Agent.
Confirm that the number shows as connected or Deployed.
Call the number directly from an external phone.
Check that the call appears in Phone Agent > Call Logs.
Test the direct number before forwarding an existing clinic line to it.
Understand number statuses
Provisioned: purchased but not necessarily connected to an agent.
Deployed: connected for live agent use.
Disconnected: retained in the account but not connected to an agent.
Released: returned to the provider and no longer available for use.
Disconnecting is not the same as releasing
Disconnect a number when you want to stop using it with an agent but may need it again. Disconnecting does not release the number.
Release a number only when you are certain it is no longer needed. Releasing is irreversible, stops monthly billing for that number, disconnects any linked agent, and does not guarantee that the same number can be recovered later.
If purchase still fails
Check the business profile, country verification status, active-number limit, selected number type, and area-code availability. Send Motics support the country, number type, area code, verification status, and exact error shown.
