Phone Agent billing, credits, and call costs

Understand Phone Agent call credits, number rental, Call Logs cost fields, shared balances, invoices, and what happens when credits run low.

Phone Agent has two main usage costs

  • Call usage: Phone Agent sessions use Motics credits based on call duration and the rate for your plan.

  • Phone number: a purchased Phone Agent number has a separate estimated monthly cost shown before purchase.

Your Billing page, invoice, order form, or commercial agreement is authoritative. Pilot, enterprise, and custom agreements may differ from standard pricing.

How call credits are calculated

The current standard Phone Agent rate is 3 credits per billable minute. The exact deduction is calculated from the live rate and call duration, so use the credit usage recorded for the call rather than a manual estimate when reconciling usage.

At the standard rate, 1,000 credits provides approximately 333 Phone-Agent-only billable minutes. This is an estimate: the same organisation credit balance may also be used by other Motics products, and it does not include the monthly cost of phone numbers.

See Phone Agent usage

  1. Open Phone Agent > Call Logs.

  2. Use the date, agent, or status filters for the period you want to review.

  3. Review the total Credit usage shown for the filtered calls.

  4. Open an individual call to see its credit usage and available telephony details.

A telephony cost shown in call details is an operational call-cost field. Do not treat it as a standalone invoice or assume it is an additional customer charge unless your commercial agreement says so.

See your credit balance

Open Settings > Usage Credits. Depending on your role, you can see the organisation's total, used, available, included, rollover, and purchased credits, or your own allocation and usage.

Organisation credits can be shared across enabled Motics products and users. Owners, co-owners, and admins can review organisation usage and, where available, allocate or purchase credits. Observers cannot spend credits.

What happens when credits are low

Motics can block a new credit-spending action when there are not enough credits. Do not assume that overage is automatic. Monitor Usage Credits, confirm any overage arrangement in your agreement, and purchase or allocate credits before the balance is exhausted.

The effect on new Phone Agent sessions can depend on your plan and rollout configuration. If uninterrupted inbound coverage is critical, agree a low-credit monitoring and phone-routing fallback with your Motics contact.

Phone number billing

The purchase dialog shows the estimated monthly price for the selected country and number type. Number availability and price can vary.

  • Connecting or disconnecting a number from an agent does not release the number.

  • Releasing a number is permanent and stops monthly billing for that number.

  • A released number may not be recoverable.

SMS and other charges

Do not infer a separate SMS price from the Phone Agent call-credit display. Notification, messaging, overage, and custom telecom terms can depend on your agreement. Check the order form or ask Motics support if these charges are not stated clearly.

Invoices and contract questions

Open Settings > Billing to review the plan, billing period, invoices, and payment options available to your role. If the app and a signed commercial agreement differ, ask Motics support to confirm the applicable term before changing your rollout.
