šŸ“ø Instagram – First Time Setup

Before Munch Studio can post to Instagram, your account needs to be set up correctly.

Step 1: Convert to a Business Account

Munch Studio only works with business accounts. If you’re still using a personal account, here’s how to switch:

  1. Open the Instagram mobile app and go to your profile.

  2. Tap the menu (three lines, top right).

  3. Choose Account type and tools (or go to Settings > Account).

  4. Tap Switch to professional account.

  5. Select Business as the type.

  6. Choose the category that best fits your business.

  7. Follow the prompts to finish setup.

Step 2: Connect Instagram to a Facebook Page

To work with Munch Studio, your Instagram business account must be linked to a Facebook Page — not a personal profile.

  • To check if it’s a Page, look for:

    • A ā€œManage Pageā€ button, or

    • Follow/Like buttons.

  • If you only have a personal profile, you’ll need to create a new Facebook Page for your business (you can’t convert a personal profile into a Page).

Step 3: Confirm Admin Permissions

You need to be an Admin on both your Instagram and your connected Facebook Page.

To check on Facebook:

  • Go to Settings > Page settings > Page access.

  • Find your name. If it says Admin or Full Control, you’re set.

šŸ”„ Instagram – Reconnect

Sometimes your Instagram connection expires (this can happen if you change your password or if the access token times out).

Step 1: Try Reconnecting

Go back to Munch Studio and reconnect Instagram. In most cases, that’s all it takes.

Step 2: Reauthorize Access

If reconnecting doesn’t work, remove Munch Studio’s access and reconnect again:

  • If connected directly via Instagram:

    1. Open Instagram and go to Menu > Security > Apps and Websites.

    2. Find Munch Studio and tap Remove.

  • If connected via Facebook:

    1. On Facebook, click the drop-down arrow (top right).

    2. Go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Business Integrations.

    3. Find Munch Studio, click Remove, then return to Munch Studio to reconnect.

    4. When reconnecting, make sure to accept all permissions and select all Pages (even if you don’t plan to use some of them).
