Overview
QZ Tray is a small application that runs on your computer and allows your browser (like Chrome or Edge) to communicate directly with your printer.
Since modern browsers block direct access to local devices for security reasons, QZ Tray acts as a secure bridge between AccelerList and your thermal printer.
Why is QZ Tray Needed?
AccelerList is a web-based platform, which means it runs inside your browser.
However, browsers cannot directly control printers on your computer.
This is where QZ Tray comes in.
QZ Tray allows AccelerList to:
Detect your printer
Send print jobs instantly
Control label size and formatting
Print without downloading files manually
Without QZ Tray, printing labels (SKU, FNSKU, or MF tickets) would not work properly.
What Does QZ Tray Do?
Once installed and running, QZ Tray:
Connects your browser to your local printer
Sends print commands from AccelerList to your printer
Ensures fast and accurate label printing
Handles secure communication using certificates
You’ll typically see a connection status in AccelerList like:
✅ Connected & Ready
How Do You Know It’s Working?
QZ Tray is working correctly when:
You see the QZ Tray icon on your computer
AccelerList shows “Connected & Ready”
You can successfully click Print Test Label
What Happens If QZ Tray Is Not Installed or Not Running?
You may experience:
Printer not detected
“No connection” errors
Nothing happens when clicking print
Repeated permission popups
Important Reminder
For printing to work properly:
QZ Tray must be installed
QZ Tray must be running in the background
You must allow the browser connection prompt
Summary
QZ Tray is an essential tool that enables printing from AccelerList.
It acts as the connection between your browser and your thermal printer, ensuring fast, accurate, and seamless label printing.
