Fixing eBay Setup & Listing Errors in AccelerList

A step-by-step guide to help you quickly identify and fix common eBay setup and listing issues in AccelerList so you can list without interruptions.

If you're having trouble connecting your eBay account or publishing listings in AccelerList, don’t worry—most issues are caused by missing settings or incomplete policies.

This guide walks you through the most common errors, what they mean, and how to fix them.


⚙️ eBay Setup Issues (Before Listing)

These errors usually appear in:
👉 Settings → eBay Settings
They must be resolved before you can list items.


❗ Missing Payment Email

Message:
“Please set eBay PayPal email”

What it means:
A required email field hasn’t been entered.

How to fix:

  • Go to Settings → eBay Settings

  • Enter your PayPal email

  • Click Save

  • Wait a few seconds for policies to load


❗ Missing Required Policies

Message:
“Please update eBay settings as we are missing some of the policies”

What it means:
Not all required policies are selected.

How to fix:
Make sure all of the following are selected:

  • Fulfillment Policy

  • Payment Policy

  • Return Policy

  • Merchant Location

👉 All dropdowns should have valid values.


❗ Policies Not Loading

What it means:
AccelerList can’t fetch your eBay policies.

How to fix:

  • Refresh the page

  • Make sure your email is saved

  • Reauthorize your eBay account if needed


❗ Account Not Eligible Yet

Message:
“User is not eligible for Business Policy”

What it means:
Your eBay account is new or hasn’t been fully enabled for Business Policies.

How to fix:

  • Wait ~15 seconds for auto-enrollment

  • If still not working:

    • Use eBay directly to build account activity

    • Try again later


📦 Listing Errors (When Publishing)

These happen when you try to list or publish items.


❗ Invalid Return Policy

Message:
“The eBay listing has invalid data in the associated Return policy.”

What it means:
Your return policy is missing required details.

How to fix:

  • Quick fix: Re-select the default policy in AccelerList

  • Manual fix: Update it in eBay (Return window, refund method, etc.)


❗ Invalid Fulfillment Policy

Message:
“The eBay listing has invalid data in the associated Fulfillment policy.”

What it means:
Your shipping settings are incomplete.

How to fix:

  • Quick fix: Re-select the default policy

  • Manual fix: Add valid shipping service + handling time in eBay


❗ Deleted Policy Error

What it means:
A previously selected policy was deleted in your eBay account.

How to fix:

  • Go to Settings → eBay Settings

  • Select a new valid policy


❓ Common Questions

🔹 Can I use my own policies?

Yes — you can use any policies created in your eBay account.


🔹 Can I edit policies?

Yes — edit them anytime in eBay Seller Hub.
Changes will apply to new listings.


🔹 Will policy changes update existing listings?

No — existing listings must be updated manually in eBay.


🔹 Do I still need a PayPal email?

Yes — it’s still required for setup, even if payouts go to your bank.


🔹 What if I use Amazon for fulfillment?

You still need to set a Merchant Location.
This is required for all eBay listings.
