What to Check Before Starting a Rapid Scanning Session

A pre-scanning checklist to help ensure your batch, Amazon connection, scanner, printer, and listing settings are ready before using Rapid Scanning.

Before You Start

Because Rapid Scanning is intended to help you process items quickly, it's important to make sure your setup is correct before scanning a large amount of inventory.

A mistake in your configuration could potentially affect multiple items.

1. Check Your Amazon Connection

Make sure your Amazon seller account is properly connected to AccelerList and that you're working with the correct marketplace.

2. Check Your Batch

Verify that you've opened or created the correct batch.

Review the settings that will be used while processing your inventory.

3. Review Your Listing Settings

Before scanning, check applicable settings such as:

  • Fulfillment method

  • Condition

  • Pricing settings

  • Quantity

  • Supplier or scout information, when applicable

  • Other batch-level listing preferences

4. Test Your Barcode Scanner

Scan one item and make sure the barcode is entered correctly.

If the scanner isn't behaving as expected, resolve the issue before processing the rest of your inventory.

5. Check Your Printer

If your workflow requires labels, make sure:

  • The correct printer is connected.

  • The correct label size is loaded.

  • Your printing connection/software is running when required.

  • A test label prints correctly.

6. Organize Your Inventory

Keep the products you're about to scan separate from inventory that has already been processed. This can help prevent accidentally scanning an item twice or skipping an item.

7. Test One Item First

Before starting a large Rapid Scanning session, process one item from beginning to end.

Check that the correct product appears and that the resulting listing information matches what you expected.

Final Check

Once your first test item looks correct, you can continue processing the rest of your inventory with greater confidence.

Taking a few minutes to verify your setup beforehand can help prevent having to correct multiple items later.
