Understanding FBA vs MFN Inventory in AccelerList

Learn the difference between FBA and Merchant Fulfilled (MFN) inventory and how each fulfillment method may appear in AccelerList.

What Is FBA Inventory?

Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) means you send your inventory to Amazon's fulfillment network. When an order is placed, Amazon stores, picks, packs, and ships the product and handles customer service and returns. Sell on Amazon

What Is MFN Inventory?

Merchant Fulfilled (MFN), also called Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM), means you are responsible for storing your inventory and fulfilling customer orders yourself. Amazon allows sellers to use FBA, merchant fulfillment, or a combination of both. Sell on Amazon

How Does AccelerList Determine the Fulfillment Type?

AccelerList receives inventory and listing information from Amazon. The fulfillment information Amazon provides helps determine whether inventory appears under FBA or MFN in AccelerList.

Because of this, the fulfillment type you intended to use when creating a batch may not always immediately match what appears in your inventory if Amazon is still processing the listing.

Can the Same Product Have FBA and MFN Inventory?

Yes. A seller may have different SKUs associated with the same product or ASIN using different fulfillment methods.

When troubleshooting, always check the specific SKU, rather than relying only on the ASIN.

Why Is This Important?

Understanding whether a SKU is currently FBA or MFN can help explain why:

  • An item isn't appearing under the expected inventory view.

  • An FBA item appears to be missing.

  • Only some products from a batch appear under FBA.

  • Inventory quantities don't look as expected.

If something looks incorrect, compare the specific SKU in AccelerList with the same SKU in Amazon Seller Central.
