Overview
Products in Google Merchant Center require identifiers like GTIN or MPN to stay compliant and ad-eligible. Since MEM products are custom-made and typically lack GTINs, you can use your product's SKU as the MPN. MEM auto-generates unique SKUs, which simplifies compliance.
Rather than manually setting MPNs, streamline the process by configuring a feed rule in your Merchant Center that maps SKUs directly to MPNs.
Assigning MPN Numbers
MEM generates a unique SKU for each product.
Using the SKU as the MPN ensures proper identification in Google Merchant Center.
This helps avoid errors such as missing or duplicate MPNs.
When MPN Is Required
An MPN is required if you don't provide a GTIN.
For custom-made MEM products, MPN is optional— simply mapping your SKUs suffices.
Important: Do not falsify MPNs; always use authentic or system-generated SKUs.
