Starting January 1, 2026, Shopify introduced a new process for Custom App creation. From this date, Custom Apps can only be created via the Shopify Dev Dashboard and will use Client ID and Client Secret credentials instead of Access Tokens. This change does not affect any existing custom apps or their current functionality in Logiwa. Existing integrations can continue using their current Access Tokens. For new setups, detailed steps for creating a Custom App and obtaining Client ID and Client Secret credentials can be found via the link next to the Client ID and Secret section below.
For information about getting your required Credentials:
Access Token, see this article.
Client Id and Secret, see this article.
For information about API Version, see this article.
Enter your Shopify Store Name, select Your Authorization Method and enter your Credentials. Then, select your Client and API Version(GraphQL is recommended), then click Continue to proceed.
Once the system has accepted your credentials, you'll enter your new store's details.
Note, if you encounter the "This action requires merchant approval for read_orders scope." error, please make sure you have granted Shopify access to the necessary scopes as described in the Access Token article or Client Id and Secret Article.
Shopify Subscription Plan & API Access to PII
Warning: Shopify's Basic/Starter plans restrict API access to Protected Customer Data (PII), including full names, addresses, and contact info. This
will prevent Logiwa from receiving complete order details, causing sync failures (e.g., "Customer description/code/address cannot be empty") or orders with missing data. To avoid being affected by this restriction, you can create a connection using our Public App method. Detailed information regarding the Public App method can be found in our Shopify Integration documentation.
Recommendation: For full data sync, the Shopify store must be on a "Shopify" plan or higher. Include links to Shopify's official documentation. Suppose you are on a "Basic" or "Starter" plan and require access to Shipment and Billing Addresses, along with orders. In that case, you must purchase the Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) feature in addition to your Shopify plan.

Shopify Connect Store Drawer
General
For the General section, you'll enter your store's basic details. Information on each field is below the screenshot.
Field | Description |
Connection Store Name | The original name of your Shopify connection. If no entry is made in the field below, this will be the name displayed in Logiwa. This field cannot be modified. |
Store Name | An alternative name for your Shopify connection. Entries in this field can override the above field. |
Client | Choose the client from your account that will use this connection. The Client selected for the Shopify connection must be the Logiwa IO client under whom the corresponding product SKUs are defined. A mismatch can prevent orders from syncing. |
Active | Set to Yes to make this connection active. Set to No to make it inactive. |
API Version | Select your connection method to Shopify as Rest API or GraphQL. To learn more about API Version, see this article. |
Customize Authorization Method (Optional): To add a credential for your store method-based, click to expand the Customize Authorization Method menu and select your Authorization Method.
Shopify credentials serve as secure keys that facilitate data exchange and integration between Shopify's platform and Logiwa IO. Entering different credentials for each process can help resolve throttle issues faced by high-volume Shopify operations.
Each field is described in the table below:
Field | Description |
Download Product Token
Client ID & Secret | Grants Logiwa IO permission to download product information from Shopify's database, including product names, descriptions, and prices. |
Download Orders Token
Download Orders Client ID & Secret | Grants Logiwa IO permission to retrieve order data from Shopify, including customer details, order items, shipping information, and order status. |
Sync Inventory Token
Sync Inventory Client ID & Secret | Grants Logiwa IO permission to synchronize inventory levels between Shopify and Logiwa's platform, such as updating stock quantities, tracking product availability, and managing inventory |
Send Shipment Token
Send Shipment Client ID & Secret | Grants Logiwa IO permission to send shipment information back to Shopify once orders are fulfilled, including tracking numbers, shipping carriers, and fulfillment status. |
The rest of the process is the same as the steps outlined in the existing Shopify Integration documentation. For more details, see this article.
