Overview
Resolution jobs are pick-to-location jobs created specifically to handle unresolved pick short tasks. After a supervisor uses the Resolve Pick Short dialog on the Shipment Order screen to create or merge resolution jobs, those jobs appear in the Job Management screen alongside standard jobs — but are clearly identified so warehouse supervisors can track and act on them without confusion.
When to Use It
Use Job Management to manage resolution jobs when:
A supervisor has created one or more resolution jobs via the Resolve Pick Short flow and needs to monitor their progress.
You want to identify which jobs in the backlog are resolution jobs without opening each record individually.
You need to generate a Pick Short Consolidation printout for resolution jobs to give pickers a printed task sheet.
Prerequisites
Before using this workflow, ensure:
At least one resolution job has been created via Warehouse Ops → Resolve Pick Short on the Shipment Order screen.
Your user account has access to the Job Management screen.
At least one Pick Short Consolidation print template has been configured in Print Template Management (required for printing).
Identifying Resolution Jobs in the Grid
The Job Management grid includes a Resolution Job column. This column shows whether each job was created as a resolution job.
Value | Meaning |
Yes | This job was created from the Resolve Pick Short flow and is flagged as a resolution job. |
No | This is a standard picking or warehouse job. |
— | The value is unavailable (e.g., older records created before this feature was enabled). |
The Resolution Job column is also included when you export the grid to Excel. In the export file, values appear as TRUE or FALSE (or — for unavailable records).
Filtering by Resolution Job
To view only resolution jobs — or only standard jobs — use the filter panel on the Job Management screen.
Navigate to Job Management.
Open the Filter panel.
Find the Resolution Job filter and select Yes to show only resolution jobs, or No to exclude them.
Apply the filter. The grid refreshes to show only matching jobs.
Printing Pick Short Consolidation Reports
You can print a consolidated report for selected resolution jobs directly from Job Management. This gives pickers a printed task sheet for each resolution job.
Navigate to Job Management.
Select one or more jobs where Resolution Job = Yes.
Click the Print Pick Short Consolidation button in the action toolbar.
⚠️ This button is only enabled when at least one selected job is a resolution job. Jobs with Resolution Job = No are automatically excluded from the print operation.
If only one Pick Short Consolidation print template is configured, the printout is generated immediately.
If multiple templates are available, a template selection dialog appears. Choose the template to use and confirm.
A PDF is generated with each selected resolution job on a separate page, including job code, job type, assigned user, status, and all associated task details.
💡 To create or manage Pick Short Consolidation print templates, navigate to Print Template Management and select Pick Short Consolidation as the template type.
Common Questions
Why doesn't the Print Pick Short Consolidation button appear or become enabled?
The button is hidden or disabled when none of the selected jobs are resolution jobs. Select at least one job with Resolution Job = Yes to enable it.
What's the difference between a resolution job and a standard job?
A resolution job is created specifically to handle unresolved pick short tasks from the Resolve Pick Short flow. It uses a Pick to Location job type and is flagged with the Resolution Job indicator so it can be identified and prioritized separately from regular picking work.
Can I print a consolidation report for a resolution job that has already been picked?
Yes. The print function is available regardless of the job's current status. ⚠️ Verify against live system before publishing.
The Resolution Job column shows — for some jobs. Is that a bug?
No. A dash (—) indicates the field is unavailable for that record, typically for jobs created before this feature was released. It does not indicate an error.
