How to connect a UPS carrier integration for shipping.

UPS is a leader in the field of package delivery. With a focus on scheduled delivery, not only within the United States but also to numerous other countries, UPS has established itself as a reliable and efficient service. With Logiwa, you can integrate to UPS to automatically retrieve the information needed to generate labels and track shipments. Just follow the instructions provided in the subsequent sections to establish a connection between UPS and Logiwa.

Initial Setup

  • To create a new carrier/shipping integration, first navigate to the Integrations > Shipping page.

    • If you have trouble finding this page, please use the Search option.

  • Select UPS from the available options.

  • You can now fill in the necessary fields to create a UPS connection. You will need the following information from UPS:

    • API Key*: The ApiKey field in your UPS account.

    • API Secret*: The ApiSecret field in your UPS account.

    • Payor Account Number*: The Payor Account Number used for billing in your UPS account.

  • Once you've entered the API information, choose whether this account will be a test account or not. If it is a test account, select Yes. If it is not a test account, select No.

  • Click Continue to proceed with setup.

You will now enter additional information about the setup, beginning with the General tab.


General

  • In this tab, enter the following information:

    • Setup Name*: The name that will be used in the system for this carrier connection.

    • Warehouse*: Select the warehouse that will use this carrier connection.

    • Active: Select Yes for an active carrier connection or No for inactive.

  • After entering this information, click the Next button to proceed.


Clients

In the Clients tab, you will choose which clients can or cannot access this carrier connection.

  • To assign access to this carrier connection to all clients, select the All Clients button.

  • To assign access to some clients and not others, choose Select Manually.

  • You can now enable/disable access to this carrier connection by selecting the clients you wish to change access for and clicking the coinciding Disable or Enable buttons.

  • Once you have selected the clients who will use this connection, click the Next button.


Services

In the Services tab, you will choose which carrier services can or cannot be accessed with this carrier connection. The services offered here will vary depending on the services you have available from this carrier.

  • To assign access to all current and future services from this carrier, select the Use All Services button.

  • To assign which services will be used manually, click Select Manually.

  • You can now enable/disable access to specific services by selecting the service(s) you wish to change access for and clicking the coinciding Disable or Enable buttons.

  • Once you have selected services to be used with this connection, click the Next button.


Packages

In the Packages tab, you will choose which shipment packages (boxes, etc.) that can or cannot be used with this carrier connection.

  • To assign access to all current and future packages from this carrier, select the All Packages button.

  • To assign which shipment packages will be used manually, click Select Manually.

  • You can now enable/disable access to specific packages by selecting the package(s) you wish to change access for and clicking the coinciding Disable or Enable buttons.

  • Once you have selected packages to be used with this connection, click the Next button.


Advanced

In this section, you will find all advanced options available for the carrier, including mark-ups, ship from and return addresses, third-party accounts, and additional messages for labels. These are not required, but they will help further customize your carrier connection to meet your business needs.

Click the sections below to learn more about each advanced option.

Markup Rate

  • Select the Plus (+) icon next to Markup Rate to open the Markup Rate pop-up.

  • For Markup Type, select Percentage or Fixed Price.

    • If Percentage is selected, you will enter Markup Amount by percent.

    • If Fixed Price is selected, you will enter a specific price for the Markup Amount. The currency used will be the default currency for your account.

  • Click Save to record the markup you've entered.

  • You can now Edit or Delete this markup by using the corresponding icons.


Ship From Location

For this section, either fill in a different Ship From address to use when using this carrier, or select Use Warehouse Address and choose the relevant warehouse to automatically fill in the address.


Return Address

Similar to the Ship From Location section, add a new address for returns or choose Use Warehouse Address to add the relevant warehouse address.

Third-Party Account

Use this section to add a third-party billing account for this carrier. Just fill in the Account Number, Country (Billing Country), and Postal Code (Billing Zip).

Label Messages

Label messages enable users to add extra chosen fields to the carrier label. All chosen label messages will be printed on the label, in addition to the default information of the label. The number of label messages needed may differ from carrier to carrier. The available fields are listed in each label message drop-down.

For example, if you would like to add the store name to all printed labels from this carrier, select StoreName from the dropdown.


Finalization

  • After choosing or skipping the Advanced options, click Finish to complete your new carrier setup.

  • You will be returned to the shipping integrations page. You will receive a confirmation message and also be able to see your new UPS connection

Troubleshooting

Missing or invalid shipper number (Error Code: 120100)

If you have encountered this error, please check that your Payor Account Number is entered correctly for your UPS setup. This number corresponds to the Shipper Number.

If you have confirmed that this number matches the one in your current UPS setup and in your UPS account, please reach out to Support for further assistance.
