Shipment orders come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with different operational requirements and behaviors, so creating custom shipment order types is often necessary. This document will guide you through the simple process of creating a shipment order type in Logiwa.

Step-by-Step Guide

  • To begin, navigate to the Data Setup screen.

  • Select Shipment Order Type from the left sidebar.

  • Click the Create New SO Type button.

    • You can Update or Delete an existing shipment order type from the same screen.

  • In the Create New SO Type sidebar, enter a name for the shipment order type you want to create.

  • Enable or disable the following toggles (descriptions below the image).

Parameter

Description

Allow Order Being In Multiple Locations or LPNs

Allows selected items of shipment orders of this type into multiple locations and LPNs instead of putting them into a single location.

When this parameter is FALSE, the products that belong to the same order cannot be picked to different LPNs/Locations.
Thus, this setting is directly related with the error that the users can encounter in Picking screen: "Has Inventory In Other Totes?"

Allow Shipment Without Label

Allows shipping shipment orders of this type without needing to print a shipping label.

Create Back Order

When this parameter is enabled, back orders will be created automatically during job creation. Shipment order lines that cannot be fulfilled will be removed from the master Shipment Order, and a back order containing the short products will be generated.

If you're not sure if this should be enabled or disabled for your account, read here to learn more.

Enable Partial Order Packing

When enabled, packers will be able to partially pack the order. When disabled, packers will not be able to pack the order if the products in the order are not completely picked.

Allow Partial Shipment

When enabled, users can partially ship packages. Orders that are handled partially will display with a P (hover for Partial) next to the Status.

Please note that the system will show the status farthest along in the outbound process for a partial order.

For example, an order with partial allocation and partial shipment will show the order status as Shipped (P), while one with partial allocation and partial picking will show Ready To Pack (P)

Allow Lot Number Swap On Picking

When enabled, permits users to scan a different lot number than those in the shipment order during the picking process.

Please note that Lot Number Swap can be only done for the inventory in the same source location for the SKU.

Auto Create Loading Task After Unloading

When enabled, after unloading, the system will automatically create a loading task for the given order.

Allow LP Swap On Picking

When enabled, permits users to scan a different LP number than those in the shipment order during the picking process.

Please note that LP Swap can be only done for the inventory in the same source location.

Allow Expiry Date Swap On Picking

When enabled, permits users to scan a different expiration date than those in the shipment order during the picking process.

Please note that Expiry Date Swap can be only done for the inventory in the same source location for the SKU.

Allow Production Date Swap On Picking

When enabled, permits users to scan a different production date than those in the shipment order during the picking process.

Please note that Production Date Swap can be only done for the inventory in the same source location for the SKU.

  • Click Save to register your new shipment order type.

  • Once the SO type is saved, you will be able to see it on the list of available shipment order types.

Important Note:

If there is a Shipment Order that is currently allocated (in Ready to Pick, Ready to Pack, Ready to Ship, etc. statuses), there are certain restrictions on updating parameters within its Shipment Order Type (in the Data Setup):

  1. Create Backorder - This parameter cannot be modified once the order has reached an allocated status.

  2. Allow Partial Shipment - This setting is also locked for changes in allocated orders.

These restrictions ensure that allocation and shipment processes are not disrupted. Make any necessary changes to these parameters before the order reaches an allocated status.
