1. Tell customers in-store

Having your customers promote/refer you via word-of-mouth is highly effective and essentially free, so do encourage this as happy customers will gladly tell others.

Tell customers in-store about the booking system and help them with registering an account and booking their next appointment where necessary.

You can create a QR code (to display on posters, countertop signs, business cards etc.) that customers can easily scan with their smartphone to reach your website.

2. List your shop on Google

Register a Google Business Profile here so that users can find your shop on Google Search and Maps. Make sure to add a website link for one-click access to the booking system.

We highly recommend enabling Feedback on the booking system and linking it to your Google Business Profile. Customers who give a 5-star rating will be redirected to your Google page to leave a public review, effectively skyrocketing your 5-star reviews on Google.

3. Post on social media

If you do not already have a Facebook and/or Instagram page for your business, we would recommend setting them up as they will help to establish your business's online presence and drive customer engagement. Please see these guides for instructions:

Post regularly to sustain brand awareness and use our free promotional images for your business which you can find on the system within Business Boosters > Marketing > [Free promotional material]:

Post your website link and basic sign-up instructions every few days across your social media channels. Here is a sample message you could post but feel free to use your own:

We're now taking online bookings at:

To book your next appointment:

(1) Click our website link above.

(2) Go to 'Register' and enter your details.
(3) Confirm your email address and log in to make a booking.

Here is another example where you could incorporate a discount code on the system to encourage bookings:

We're now taking online bookings. Register and book on our website:

and use the discount code OFF10 for 10% off your first booking. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Be creative with your posts as people will get bored of high-frequency generic/repeated content. Here are some ideas:

  • Advertise new services/products, discounts/offers etc.

  • Show customer feedback - if you enable Feedback on the system, you can download reviews as images to share.

  • Run competitions/giveaways (e.g. "Share this post to be in with a chance of winning a £100 gift voucher!").

  • Make announcements (e.g. "Our June bookings are filling up quickly. Book early now to avoid disappointment!").

  • Post interesting/novel photos (e.g. haircuts, staff in festive outfits).

  • Share articles that might interest your customer base.

4. Link your booking system to Facebook/Instagram

Add your website link to your social media page(s) to give visitors one-click access to the booking system:

5. Auto-direct customers to your booking system on messenger apps

Set up an auto-reply for when people message you on Facebook or Instagram:

You can create a message like:

Thank you for your message. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.

If you want to book an appointment with us, please visit:

This will introduce more people to the booking system and save you time from handling manual bookings.

6. Register for our app

Get your shop listed on our Nearcut / Book in Beautiful app (available on Apple and Android) so that potential customers can find you, and existing customers can download it and save your shop for future bookings:

Of 5707 customers we surveyed, 93% would book their appointments using a mobile app. You can sign up for this option on the system within Business Boosters > App.

We will also send you free stickers for your shop window and interior with a printed QR code that customers can scan with their smartphone to download the app:

We can also build you a custom app exclusively for your shop and with your own branding. To learn more, please contact your Account Manager or our Support team.
