If you use Nearo on a Mac and the Nearo N icon isn't visible in the menu bar at the top of your screen, a crowded menu bar is the most common cause.
Check the menu bar from the desktop
Each app you open adds its own menus to the left side of the menu bar. When an app has a lot of menus, macOS hides icons on the right to make room. On MacBooks with a camera notch, hidden icons disappear behind the notch.
Click your desktop wallpaper so that no app menus take up space in the menu bar.
Look at the menu bar again to see whether the Nearo icon has reappeared.
If the icon appears now, it was only hidden temporarily.
Either way, the sections below show how to keep it visible.
Turn on the Nearo icon in System Settings
macOS controls which apps are allowed to show an icon in the menu bar.
Open the Apple menu, then select System Settings.
Select Menu Bar in the sidebar.
Scroll to Allow in the Menu Bar.
Turn on the setting for Nearo.
ℹ️ If you don't see Menu Bar in the sidebar, your Mac is running an older version of macOS that doesn't include this setting.
Hide macOS icons you don't use
Many icons in the menu bar come from macOS itself, such as Bluetooth, Spotlight, and Time Machine. Turning off the ones you don't need frees up space for the Nearo icon.
Open the Apple menu, then select System Settings.
Select Menu Bar in the sidebar.
Turn off any items you don't use.
On older versions of macOS, these options are under Control Center in System Settings.
Rearrange your menu bar icons
Moving the Nearo icon closer to the right side of the menu bar helps keep it visible, because icons on the left are the first to be hidden when space runs out.
Hold down the Command key.
Drag the Nearo icon to where you want it in the menu bar.
Release the mouse or trackpad to drop it in place.
You can move most menu bar icons this way, including built-in macOS icons.
💡 Dragging your most-used icons to the right and your least-used icons to the left makes a crowded menu bar easier to work with.
If the icon still doesn't appear
Quit Nearo and open it again, then check the menu bar.
Restart your Mac if the icon is still missing.
