The Sales tab shows you historical sales information for your selected location or group of locations. With the Sales tab, you have the ability to access and analyze KPIs, and view informative graphs to gain a deeper understanding of your sales performance. With this information, you can assess your sales performance, measure profitability, and identify those star-performing locations and products that are driving your success.
What should I do first?
Click on the location drop down to select a location you wish to view KPIs for.
You may select to view the KPIs for all locations, specific physical locations or consolidated regions.
Click on the timeframe drop down to select how much history you wish to have displayed on the dashboard. The longer the time frame, the longer the dashboard will take to load.
Key performance indicators
View KPIs for the selected location at the top of the view. These are described below.
Total sales - The sum of sales at cost price for the location or group of locations being viewed over the timeframe being viewed.
Total revenue - The sum of sales at selling price for the location or group of locations being viewed over the timeframe being viewed.
Gross margin - The difference between Total revenue and Total sales and the associated percentage.
Top location (COS) - The total sales at cost price at the top location.
Top location (Gross margin) - The total gross margin (sales minus revenue) at the top location. Note that the location with the best sales could differ from the location with the best margins.
Top product (COS) - The total sales at cost price for the top product.
Top product (Gross margin) - The total gross margin (sales minus revenue) for the top product. Note that the product with the best sales could differ from the product with the best margins.
Frozen - The count of items where manual user adjustments were made to the computer-generated forecast.
Graphs
There are useful graphs within this tab, and these are explained below.
Sales value - This graph displays the sum of sales units, sales margin and cost of sales. Information is displayed by month.
Demand types - This graph displays the count of the various forecasting demand types.
Cost of sales by Demand types - This graph displays the sum value (in cost price) of the various forecasting demand types.
Top locations by Cost of Sales - This graph indicates where we are making the most sales in cost price and highest margin.
Top location contribution by Cost of Sales - This graph indicates the total sales (in cost price) contribution for each location in the filter as well as the month-to-date sales for the current month. The highest contributing location is displayed at the bottom and the other locations’ contributions are stacked on top of one another. Information is displayed in months. Note: You can click on a location name in the legend to add or remove its information on the graph.
Top relative location contribution by Cost of Sales - This graph indicates the total sales (in cost price) percentage contribution for each location in the filter as well as the month-to-date sales percentage for the current month. The highest contributing location is displayed at the bottom and the other locations’ contributions are stacked on top of one another. Information is displayed in months.
Top location contribution by Gross Margin - This graph indicates the total margin contribution for each location in the filter as well as the month-to-date margin for the current month. The highest contributing location is displayed at the bottom and the other locations’ contributions are stacked on top of one another. Information is displayed in months.
Top relative location contribution by Gross Margin - This graph indicates the total margin percentage contribution for each location in the filter as well as the month-to-date margin percentage for the current month. The highest contributing location is displayed at the bottom and the other locations’ contributions are stacked on top of one another. Information is displayed in months.
Top products by Cost of Sales - This graph indicates which products are making the most sales in cost price.
Top product contribution by Cost of Sales - This graph indicates the total sales (in cost price) contribution for each product as well as the month-to-date sales for the current month. The highest contributing product is displayed at the bottom and the other products’ contributions are stacked on top of one another. Information is displayed in months.
Top relative product contribution by Cost of Sales - This graph indicates the total sales (in cost price) percentage contribution for each product as well as the month-to-date sales percentage for the current month. The highest contributing product is displayed at the bottom and the other products’ contributions are stacked on top of one another. Information is displayed in months.
Top products by Gross Margin - This graph indicates which products are making the highest gross margins.
Top product contribution by Gross Margin - This graph indicates the total margin contribution for each product as well as the month-to-date margin for the current month. The highest contributing product is displayed at the bottom and the other products’ contributions are stacked on top of one another. Information is displayed in months.
Top relative product contribution by Gross Margin - This graph indicates the total margin percentage contribution for each product in the filter as well as the month-to-date margin percentage for the current month. The highest contributing product is displayed at the bottom and the other products’ contributions are stacked on top of one another. Information is displayed in months.
Top locations with frozen forecasts - This graph indicates in which locations we are making the most manual adjustments to the computer generated forecasts.
Manual forecast comparison - This graph compares the actual sales history to the historic computer generated forecast and history users adjusted forecast. This is useful for analyzing whether the user adjustment improved the forecast or whether the computer forecast would have been more accurate.
FC MAD - User adjusted forecast mean absolute deviation - The lower the value, the more accurate the forecast.
Computer FC MAD - Computer forecast mean absolute deviation - The lower the value, the more accurate the forecast. If the Computer FC MAD is lower than the FC MAD, it indicates that user interventions to the forecasts are resulting in less accurate forecasts.
