Perhaps your fiscal year begins in March, or September – you'll want to make sure that your Donor Management platform reflects those important dates when creating and sharing reports.
While you aren’t able to adjust your fiscal year directly, you can ask a member of our Support Team to make that change for you internally.
Once that change has been made, there are a few things that will look a little bit different:
Changes to the Dashboard
The year-to-date giving totals under the top graph for “raised this year,” “average donation,” and “# of donations” will reflect your fiscal year moving forward.
The “designation amounts” will reflect your fiscal year moving forward.
Moving forward, “donors this year” will display the number of contacts who have donated during this fiscal year.
Changes to Contact Records, Reports, and Filters
Contact “cards” (records) will now display the total donation amount a donor has made in this current fiscal year, as well as their lifetime donation total.
When building a custom filter, new filter options for "total donation amount this fiscal year" and "total donation amount this calendar year" will become available.
On each donor’s profile, the total donation amount that the donor has made in this current fiscal year will display in the upper-right corner, along with lifetime donation total and that donor’s average donation amount.
When exporting contacts, you will now be able to add columns in your exported report for "fiscal year donations" and "previous fiscal year donations.”
Changes to Giving Records, Reports, and Filters
Moving forward, the date range filter should make it quick and easy for you to filter on either fiscal year or calendar year (depending on your needs).
When building a custom filter, there will now be new filter options available for "total donation amount this fiscal year" and "total donation amount this calendar year."
When exporting donations, you can add columns in your exported report for "fiscal year donations" and "previous fiscal year donations."
