If you’re looking to kickstart your reporting, Donor Management has several pre-established “recommended filters” already created for your convenience.
Below, we've provided the steps on how to use one of the included recommended filters, so you can easily report on crucial data without having to create some of those reports from scratch.
Step 1: Determine which type of information you're looking to report on.
When you’re looking to create a filter, you’ll want to start by asking yourself one crucial question:
“Do I want to make a list of people? Or do I want to make a list of donations?”
We've provided a helpful guide here on how to determine which type of filter you might need - we recommend reviewing that before moving forward with building a report.
Step 2: Click on the "Recommended Filters" button on either the "Contacts" or "Giving" pages.
From either the Contacts or Giving pages, you should be able to click on the “Recommended Filters” button.
A section should appear on the page that lists the available recommended filters, and you can select the filter that best meets your need by clicking on its name.
The recommended filters vary between the "Contacts" and "Giving" tabs - below, we've compiled a list of each set of recommended filters, for your convenience.
"Contacts" - Recommended Filters

Step 3 (optional): Make one-off changes to the recommended filter to better fit your needs.
You can also click on "Edit Filter" when a recommended filter has been applied to make quick, one-off adjustments to that existing filter.
It won't save those changes under the "Recommended Filter" tab, but it can help if you need to make a quick adjustment to an existing complex filter instead of having to build it entirely from scratch.
