The Problem
When using the Round Up feature in Nineyard, sometimes only some of the shipments get created, while others display an error message stating, "Seller is over volume capacity limit." This issue can lead to shipment abandonment if not properly managed.
The Cause
When using the Round-Up feature, the system replans your shipment with 5 or 6 times the quantity you intended to send. This is done to get one shipment in the plan with all the SKUs and quantities. However, you need to have enough storage capacity on Amazon to handle the inflated quantities, even if you plan on removing (deselecting) items from the shipments.
Note that when you deselect items before shipment creation, the shipments are still created with all the quantities, and the items are only removed after the creation process. If your storage capacity is insufficient, you may face difficulties in creating all the planned shipments.
The 'Retry' Option
Often, the 'retry' button does not help, as Amazon has already labeled this shipment plan as problematic. You will need to start from scratch and delete those shipments that were created in the previous plan.
The Solution
To avoid capacity issues, create one shipment at a time, starting with the largest of the 4 related shipments, and create the main shipment last. Wait for the deselected SKUs to be removed from the shipment on Amazon, thus resetting your capacity, and then proceed with the next shipment. Follow these steps:
Steps to Work Around Capacity Issues
Plan All: Begin by planning all shipments.
Round-Up: Use the Round Up feature to adjust your shipment quantities.
Create: Proceed to create the shipments.
Unselect All: Unselect all the shipments in the plan.
Select One Shipment: Choose one related shipment with the highest quantity.
Hit Create Selected: Create the selected shipment.
Wait for Updates: Wait until Amazon updates your storage capacity by removing the unselected SKUs from that shipment.
Repeat Steps 5-7: Repeat the process for the other related shipments, starting with the next highest quantity.
Check Capacity: After creating all related shipments, ensure you have enough storage capacity for the main shipment.
Create Main Shipment: If you have enough capacity, proceed to create the main shipment.
By following these steps, you can effectively manage your storage capacity and avoid potential issues with shipment creation and abandonment.
