Roles & Permissions

How to manage your team settings to secure your company and customer data.

How roles work

Every user on Nuvo has two things that determine what they can do:

  1. Admin status — Are they an Admin or Non-Admin?

  2. Role — What is their functional role (e.g. Credit Approver, Sales Rep)?

Admins have full access to everything in their company regardless of role — with one exception: a user with the Credit Clerk role (and not also Credit Approver) can never approve or decline applications, even if they're an Admin. Non-admins are scoped to the capabilities of their assigned role.

Admin

Admins have unrestricted access across the entire company, including:

  • View and edit all company information and settings

  • View, edit, and approve all credit applications

  • Set and modify approval limits on Credit Approvers

  • Manage all team members (invite, remove, change roles) — Admins and IT are the only ones who can do this

  • Access all trade references, assets, and documents

  • View credit operations data and analytics

Any role below can also be an Admin. When they are, all role restrictions are removed — except the Credit Clerk approval block noted above.

If a company has SSO enabled, team members can't be invited manually at all — users are managed through the company's identity provider.

Credit Approvers are the primary decision-makers on credit applications. If the company has approval limits enabled, an Admin can set a limit on each approver (refreshing daily, weekly, or monthly); the approver can approve up to that amount. How roles work

Pre-fill supplier application data

Sales Managers get a read-only view like Sales Reps, but across all of the company's applications rather than just assigned ones. They cannot invite or remove team members — that's Admin-only.

Important: Sales Rep access depends on a per-company setting (the sales rep dashboard). When it's on, reps get a read-only dashboard showing only the customers/applications assigned to them — this scoping is enforced server-side, not just hidden in the UI. When it's off, Sales Reps have no dashboard access at all. The Insights, Trade References, and Notes tabs are hidden from both the Sales Rep and Sales Manager views.

Provide personal guaranty / ownership info

Yes

OOS users provide beneficial ownership and personal guaranty information as part of credit applications. Note: an OOS contact only gets data access once an Admin has approved (authorized) them — self-attesting as an owner doesn't grant access on its own.

IT

The IT role automatically grants Admin-level access for system and technical administration, with the Insights/Analytics tab hidden. Exception: if a user has IT plus a credit role (Approver or Clerk), Insights is shown — the credit role wins.
