Ompractice classes are for everybody, and it's important to us that every student feels welcome in class. In order to encourage that sense of belonging, we provide our teachers with a student roster before class that includes each student's name and, if provided, their name's pronunciation, their pronouns, their health notes, and their profile picture, as pictured below.
How do I update the profile that my teacher sees?
Log into your Ompractice account, if you aren't already: https://app.ompractice.com/login
Go to your account settings. You can navigate there by opening the name dropdown in the top-right corner of the screen and selecting "Account Settings." You can also go directly to this link: https://app.ompractice.com/account
Update your name and pronouns
The main page of the account settings section lets you Manage Your Profile, which is divided into three sections: profile details, profile photo, and contact details. In the Profile Details section, you can update the following fields, which your teacher will see:
First name
Last name
Name pronunciation (optional)
Pronouns (optional). Note that you can type in your pronouns if none of the pre-provided options describe you.
Health notes, labeled "Anything your teachers should knows?" For more information check out this article on what health notes are and how to update them.
When you are done making updates to this section, click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the Profile Details section. Click here for more information on updating your Ompractice profile.
Update your profile picture
To help your teacher recognize you, you can also upload an optional profile picture. In the Profile Photo section of your Account Settings, you can upload an image and click Save Changes.
How is my data used?
Privacy is important to us, so we limit your personal information that a teacher can see. As mentioned before, a teacher can see your name and, if provided, your name's pronunciation, your pronouns, your health notes, and your profile picture. Teachers can also see how many total classes you've taken on Ompractice and how many classes you've taken with them specifically so that they can acknowledge new students and also recognize milestones. We do not share birthdates, contact information, or location information with teachers in order to protect your privacy.
