Combined marketing emails help reduce inbox clutter by bundling multiple production emails into a single message when appropriate.
When Is a Combined Email Sent?
A combined email is only sent when two or more productions have marketing emails scheduled to be delivered during the same calendar week.
Instead of receiving a separate email for each production, patrons receive a single email containing all eligible productions.
If only one production has an email scheduled during that week, a combined email is not sent.
How Productions Are Included
A production is included in a combined email only if it has a marketing email scheduled to send during that week.
The following do not determine whether a production appears in a combined email:
Publish date
On-sale date
Performance date
Any other production milestone
The only factor is whether that production has a scheduled marketing email being sent during the same week as another production.
Why Does My Test Email Show Only One Production?
Test emails behave slightly differently than live emails.
When you send yourself a test, the system will display any eligible production—even if it is the only production with a scheduled email that week. This allows you to preview the design, formatting, images, links, and overall appearance of the email before it would be sent.
In a live environment, that same email would not be delivered to patrons unless at least two productions were scheduled to send marketing emails during the same week.
Summary
Combined emails are only sent when two or more productions have marketing emails scheduled during the same week.
Productions are included based only on whether they have a scheduled marketing email that week.
Publish dates, on-sale dates, and event dates do not affect inclusion.
Test emails may display a single production for preview purposes, even though no combined email would be sent to patrons under those conditions.
👟Walkthrough
Under the Marketing tab and Promo Campaigns, combined emails will be listed.
Contents of the email:
The subject will show either 2 productions (if there are 2 in the email), or “2 productions, and more” if there are more than 2.
The body of the email will include the body text that has been set up in the edit screen, along with each of the production images, names and event times.
Performance Metrics:
On Promote, we’ll show the Performance Metrics per usual.
