Noteworthy: Your organization will need to have their own Constant Contact account to utilize this feature. A Constant Contact account / login is not provided by On The Stage.
Harness the power of data-driven marketing with our Constant Contact integration. OTS will automatically send patrons to your Constant Contact account through an API Integration.
Transaction data is sent to Constant every 5 minutes. Segmentation data is sent once a day at midnight. If a patron who recently purchased is not appearing in your contact list, please check again after some time has passed.
Patrons will always be added to Constant Contact, whether they have chosen to opt in to email marketing or not. Constant contact has three statuses regarding email Marketing:
Subscribed: The patron has opted in to marketing by selecting the opt-in during checkout.
No Permission Set: The patron has NOT opted in to marketing. They did not opt-in during checkout.
Unsubscribed: The patron was once opted into marketing but has explicitly opted out at some point.
More on these statuses can be found here: Constant Contact Knowledge Base
Integrating with Constant Contact
From the OTS Dashboard select “Integrations Hub” under the Settings menu in the left hand navigation.
Select the Check box next to “Integrate with Constant Contact”. The button “Connect to Constant Contact” should become red.
Click “Connect to Constant Contact” and you will be prompted to log in to your Constant Contact account.
Once you’ve successfully signed in to Constant Contact you will be returned to On The Stage and should see a message that your connection was successful.
That's it! Now any time a patron makes a purchase or donation through On The Stage they will be added to your Constant Contact audience.
If the patron indicated that they wanted to be informed of upcoming events they will be subscribed to your newsletter. If they did not opt-in to email marketing they will still be added to your audience but will be marked as "unsubscribed."
Patron Data
If the patron provides contact details such as phone number and mailing address, it will be added to their profile in Constant Contact.
A patron will receive a tag for what they purchased (add-on, donation, subscription, or ticket).
If they purchased a ticket for a performance they will get a "series" tag - Beauty and the Beast Jr in our example below.
The patron will also receive a "performance" tag with the date and time of the specific performance for which they purchased a ticket. In our example below you see "beauty-2024-01-17-22:00" which is the 10 PM performance of Beauty and the Beast on January 17th. The date format is always YYYY-MM-DD-HH:MM after the series name.
These tags will allow you to segment and message your user base.
A message to all patrons with the "ticket" tag would be sent to all ticket buyers. A message to all patrons with the "donation" tag would allow you to send a thank you message to all donors.
