Saved Templates

Navigating the Saved Templates page to create new templates or start new campaigns from existing templates.

You can create and edit email templates to be used on an ongoing basis. For example, you may create a “Newsletter” template that looks exactly how you want, and reuse it every month to send a newsletter to your patrons.

You can use a pre-made default template or customize from a basic layout to create what works best for you.

Saved Templates Page

Click Marketing > Saved Templates to open the Saved Templates page.

By default, you do NOT have any saved templates and will need to create templates to use for your organization.

Creating a new template

Click Create New Template in the upper right corner of the page.

Here, you'll see available template options so you can select the layout that works for you.

This page is split into three sections:

Default templates

These are pre-made layouts tailored to situations like sending a newsletter or promoting subscriptions and memberships to loyal ticket buyers.

Hover over a template to see more information about it.

Basic Layouts

These are simple layouts you can use for your email and add in your content.

Finally, My Templates

This section has any templates you've created previously for you to reuse.

Click any of these templates to go on to creating your email.

IF you select a default template, we ask you to name it

IF you select any other template, we ask you to:

  • Name the template

  • Give it a category (to help with categorizing it on other screens)

Once you complete this step, we automatically save your template for you.

Next, you'll be able to edit your template, here is the Newsletter default template

You can rename your template by clicking the pencil icon next to your template name chosen on the last step

You can switch between desktop and mobile views to see how your email will look on different screen sizes when patrons open your messages

Click into a section of the template to update text or images. Use the Inspect panel on the right side of the email builder to adjust content, text styling, images, links, etc.

As you move your mouse over the template, the sections will show red borders to make it easy to isolate the content you wish to update. As you click different elements, the Inspect panel will show the available editing options.

Click the + button to add an element above or below the existing content.

Select the type of element to add from the provided options.

Here, we've added a button above Header 2

You can send a test email at any time, which will also save the template, by clicking Send Test Email at the top of the page. You will be prompted to enter an email address to send the test email

Make your changes as desired and save the template using the Save Template button at the top of the page.

You’ll be asked if you want to create a new campaign from this template.

IF you click yes, you’ll be redirected to the campaign creation screen with the template already added.

  • You will STILL need to edit the instance of the template to schedule the campaign. So far, you have created a reusable template, not the ACTUAL email that will go out. For example, maybe you've created a monthly newsletter template, and now you are building the email to send out this month.

Here, we've updated the Header 1 and button for the email campaign. The campaign was also named "Monthly Newsletter - October" to make it easy to find in the dashboard.

IF you click no, you’ll be redirected to the saved templates page.

Saved Templates

Back on the main templates page, you should see your saved template. There are cards for each saved template which show:

  • A picture of the template

  • Template's name (clicking this opens the edit screen for that template)

  • Type of template

  • Emails that it’s used on (clicking the campaign name will open the campaign)

  • Created date/time

  • Last Edited date/time

So you can easily view and manage templates and how they are being used for your organization.

There are a number of actions you can take on each template by using the overflow button (the three dots next to the template name):

Create Email

Click Create Email then Continue to go to the Campaign Creation Screen and edit the email campaign to send to your patrons, starting from the saved template.

Duplicate

Click Duplicate to copy a saved template. You'll be asked to give it a name and category, and then be sent into the edit flow. We’ll automatically name it “Copy of [original template name]” which you can update in the pop up or on the edit page.

This will only duplicate the template, it will not duplicate any email campaigns attached to the original template.

Archive

Click Archive then Yes, Archive to move the template to the archive tab.

Note that if you do this, any campaign you already have set up using this as a base will not be affected.

On the archived tab, you can also send templates back to the saved tab.

Click the overflow menu, then Unarchive to restore an Archived template.
