Where Plays Appear in Your Dashboard

Updated today

Plays appear throughout the On The Stage dashboard so you can access them wherever they’re most relevant. Depending on the page you’re on and which features you have enabled (Donations, Subscriptions, etc.), you may see different Plays available.

Below is a full breakdown of where each Play appears.

🏠 Home Page

Shows all Plays except Donation Request (Subscribers).

This one only appears if you have both Donations AND Subscriptions enabled because the setup requires data from both features. If you have both enabled → the Play will show here.

🎭 Playbook Page

Shows the same Plays as the Home page.
This is the main hub for managing, editing, and monitoring your Plays.

🧩 What Appears on Each Play Card

Every Play card displays different information depending on the Play’s status. There are three statuses:

  • Recommended – You haven’t started this Play yet.

  • Active – The Play is turned on and currently sending

  • Paused – You started the Play but paused it

🟦 Recommended Plays

If a Play is recommended (not yet started), the card will show multiple calls to action inviting you to turn it on.

If your account does not yet have enough relevant data for that Play, you’ll see alternate messaging encouraging you to enable it.

Example: If you haven’t published any new productions, Announce New Events may show simplified copy encouraging setup rather than analytics-based recommendations.

🟩 Active & Paused Plays

Once a Play has been started (Active or Paused), the card will display:

  • Total Sends

  • Gross Total

  • Next Send Date (MM/DD)

If a Play is Paused, you’ll see the original CTA (like “Send automated thank-yous”) instead of a Next Send Date.

👉 What Happens When You Click a Card

Action depends on the card’s status:

If the Play is Recommended:

You’ll be taken to the Details tab for that Play so you can review and activate it.

If the Play is Active or Paused:

You’ll be taken to the Metrics tab, the second tab on the Play page, to see performance data.

📊 Order of Play Cards

Plays are sorted automatically in this priority order:

  1. Active (highest priority — you should always see what’s currently running)

  2. Recommended (encouraging you to start new Plays)

  3. Paused (lowest priority)

🙈 Hiding & Showing Plays

You can hide the Plays section on any page by clicking “Hide.”
When hidden:

  • It stays hidden only on that page

  • It stays hidden only for your user account on this device

  • It remains hidden until you unhide it

  • Clearing your browser cache will also reset visibility

Hiding one Plays component does not hide them across the entire dashboard—only on that specific page.
