Why You Might Want to Add Cash Sales After an Event Has Passed
Sometimes things get chaotic at the door, and a few walk-up cash sales don’t make it into the system during showtime.
You want to accurately report ticket revenue and attendance, even if some transactions were missed in the moment.
Keeping a complete sales record is critical for financial reconciliation, auditing, and end-of-production wrap-ups.
👟Walkthrough
If you have another event coming up in the same production, you can process the cash sales in the open event.
Next, exchange those tickets into the previous night's event.
If your production has ended, please contact your Account Manager who can assist with the adjustment.
🎓 Recap
If you missed recording cash sales during a performance, you can still add them—as long as the production is still active. Just process the sale in a future event under the same production, then exchange those tickets into the correct (past) event date.
If the production has already closed, reach out to your Account Manager for help making the necessary adjustments.
🚀 Best Practices
Reconcile nightly: Assign a staff member to double-check all cash sales before leaving the venue.
Process missed sales ASAP—ideally before the next event date closes.
Label these transactions internally to flag them as post-show additions for easier tracking.
Communicate with your Account Manager promptly if your production has ended and edits are needed.
Use the exchange tool thoughtfully to ensure ticket inventory and reporting remain accurate. Things can get a little hectic on the night of an event! We know it might be possibly that some cash ticket processing may have fallen through the cracks!
