Important Funding Process Update – Effective February 6, 2026
We’re sharing an important compliance update regarding manual funding releases and invoice uploads. Please review the information below carefully, as this change impacts how and when funding can be released.
What’s Changing
Effective 2/6/26, signed invoices will no longer be accepted as documentation to release funding when a standard funding release is not processing correctly.
This update ensures all funding releases include the appropriate legal language required for compliance and risk protection.
New Required Process
If a funding release is not working as expected, or if there is an issue that would previously require a manual invoice upload:
Installers should not upload a signed invoice
Installers must contact Installer Support to report the funding issue
Installer Support will coordinate with CFB (Climate First Bank) to have the assigned loan officer send an official Release of Funding document directly to the customer
Funding can only be released once the customer has signed the Release of Funding document
If a Signed Invoice Is Uploaded
If a signed invoice is uploaded to the portal:
Funding will not be released
CFB must still complete the process of sending the correct Release of Funding document to the customer
Funding will only proceed after the proper document is fully executed
Why This Matters
Signed invoices do not contain the required legal terminology needed to properly authorize funding. The updated Release of Funding document ensures compliance and protects all parties in the event of any legal or regulatory review.
What Installers Should Do Going Forward
Do not upload signed invoices for funding
Contact Installer Support immediately if a funding release issue occurs
Wait for confirmation that the Release of Funding document has been sent and signed
If you have questions about this change or need assistance, please reach out to Installer Support.
Thank you for your cooperation as we implement this compliance update.
