Note for the team: this article is now blended. The new version is already published.

Please note we have certain restrictions in place for specific business industries, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This list is updated periodically and may also be extended at the sole discretion of OneLocal.

All Merchants are required to comply with this Restricted Business Policy. Any breach of this Restricted Business Policy will be considered a breach of the OneLocal Terms of Service.

1. Cannabis Businesses

In order to comply with applicable laws and regulations related to the marketing and distribution of cannabis products, OneLocal restricts the use of its products and services to Merchants that operate in the cannabis space.

Specifically, other than the LocalMessages app, OneLocal does not offer its services to Merchants who promote or distribute cannabis products.

In addition, only Merchants who are located in Canada and have a valid license as a cultivator, processor and seller of cannabis under the Cannabis Act are permitted to use LocalMessages in association with the promotion or distribution of cannabis products solely to their Canadian customers.

Permitted Merchants who operate in the cannabis shall:

  • Comply with all the applicable laws in their jurisdictions, including any laws related to the regulations of cannabis advertising and marketing, as well as anti-spam laws.

  • Be solely responsible for all content and messages shared via LocalMessages, including ensuring such content complies with applicable laws.

  • Indemnify, defend and hold harmless OneLocal for any losses, penalties, fines or other damages arising from the breach of this Restricted Business Policy.
