OneLocal employs several different tactics to improve your business' online presence and drive more qualified traffic to your LocalSite. Increasing qualified traffic to your LocalSite will also increase customer conversions and increase your revenue. Among the things OneLocal will do for your business (if you're on our Dominate plan) is create and share a monthly blog post.

What does your LocalContent Calendar include?

Your calendar will include a professionally-written and SEO-optimized blog to be added to your LocalSite each month. You will also receive the content for four (4) social media posts on Instagram and Facebook targeted at promoting the blog or other relevant topics occurring in the month. Lastly, you'll get a fifth post each month on your Google Business Profile (GBP) to promote the blog as well.

What is the purpose of a blog?

The primary role of a blog is to provide your customers and prospects with relevant, helpful content they will hopefully read, click, like and share, which in turn will provide signals to Google on your authority and trustworthiness. Additionally, blog content is created, published and shared to your Google Business Profile and social channels to help further build the authority of your Service or other primary web pages and your primary keyword groups.

How does OneLocal select blog topics?

OneLocal selects blogs for your LocalContent strategy based off of the LocalSEO strategy employed for your web presence. What are we considering when we do this, you might ask?

  1. We target keywords being searched for by your target audience.

  2. We target keywords and content related to your keyword strategy and primary Service pages on your LocalSite.

  3. Where applicable, we consider seasonality to ensure the scheduling of our posts will have the most impact.

How do blogs impact your LocalSEO strategy?

  1. The more relevant, helpful and current content on your LocalSite, the better. Blogs enable us to add a brand new page to your LocalSite every single month demonstrating to Google your business is active and this is a positive signal for Google. It also gives Google more pages on your LocalSite to crawl, index and potentially display Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs), which provides more opportunities for searchers to find your LocalSite.

  2. Educational topics showcasing your business knowledge and expertise will both help in driving more traffic to your LocalSite and building more trust with customers and leads in your local market. Google not only pays attention to the content on your LocalSite, but it's also paying attention to how your visitors interact with your content. Having visitors spend more time and look at more pages on your LocalSite is a positive signal for Google, which will increase your search ranking over time.

  3. Varied keyword placement is strategically used to ensure your blogs include relevant keywords your customers are searching for. It's important the keywords are there and included in the optimal places, but it's also important to not keyword stuff by using the the exact same keywords too frequently. Places like the blog title, headers, the beginning of paragraphs and links will have the most impact. When considering keywords, our focus is on topical groups rather than specific keywords as different searchers will use different variations of keywords and we ideally want you to be found for them all.

  4. Internal linking enables us to connect specific words in the blog post to other pages on your website by adding a simple link. All blog posts should and will contain links from relevant keywords (also called anchor text) to applicable Service pages or links on Calls to Action e.g. "book an appointment/quote online" to booking, quote or Contact Us pages. Sometimes links will also lead to relevant external websites/content when additional explanation is required. These keyword-focused links are designed to lead your customers and Google search engine spiders to the next logical piece of content.

This gives Google more information to crawl related to your primary topics and better connects the web that is your LocalSite. The better connected it is, the better the user experience and Google's experience. Improving both of these is a great way to see LocalSEO success!

  5. Blog content is great, but only if it is being found and read. As such and as noted above, we share your blog posts on your social media pages such as Facebook, Instagram, as well as on your Google Business Profile. Posting on a regular basis to Google Business Profile is critical as this shows Google your business is active and in communication with your customer base.

Posting via these channels can increase engagement from your existing followers, help you establish new followers when your posts are shared and drive even more traffic over to your LocalSite!
