Overview
Metrics are the source of all data on the OneUp platform. OneUp captures all of your data from your connected integrations, but it needs a place to put this data. This is where metrics come in.
A metric consists of data from one or multiple connected integrations. OneUp will check incoming data against some internally set criteria (such as the status on an incoming record). If this criteria matches the metric's conditions, it will be added as performance to view within OneUp in that metric.
When you start using OneUp, you'll already have a collection of metrics set up for you, enabling your team to monitor and target against the data you care the most about in your business in Dashboards and Reports, as well as giving you the option to set up incentives through Leagues and Missions, or add content to your TV with Slideshows.
π‘
If you want to learn more about your specific setup and how your metrics work, refer to your Onboarding Document. This document will outline what criteria each metric considers for incoming data before adding it to OneUp.
If you're not sure where to find your Onboarding Document, reach out to our team and we'll be happy to help!
What's even better is your list of Metrics on OneUp is completely customisable! If you're perhaps looking to add new metrics, or alter the existing functionality of a Metric, it's possible to do so. We always recommend sitting down with your team to decipher exactly what you really want to drive and display using our platform before agreeing to change your Metric setup.
Don't presume you're stuck with the standard workflow; even unique note data logged in your CRM can often be displayed! Check with one of our support team to see if this is an option for you.
In addition to automated data coming from connected integrations, it's possible to use manual metrics - these aren't connected to integrations, but have that ability to record manually uploaded information. This can cover a whole range of things - we have clients who have created metrics to track their Christmas Bonus Scheme, LinkedIn activity, and even their gym sessions!

Metric Types
Metrics on OneUp can appear in a couple of different types, with sub-types sitting underneath these.
Activity Metrics
Activity metrics are the standard metric you'll see across the platform; these measure any type of performance against one specific point in time. They function differently from Rolling Metrics (explained below). Activity Metrics are most often used to view data that happened at a fixed point in time, such as the value of an invoice being raised, or actions performed by consultants.
Rolling Metrics
Rolling metrics are another common metric you'll see on OneUp - they record data over a specific range in time (e.g from the start of a contract to the end) and will, by default, show you the value of the data right now. This is in contrast to Activity Metrics, which record performance against a specific point in time.
When using the Reporting feature, Rolling Metrics are most useful to review current data that is recorded over a period of time (e.g: Current Weekly GP, Contractors Out). Because they log data that spans over a range of time, they allow you to break down and understand the current state of continuous performance.
It's possible within Reports to look at historical Rolling Metric data:
With this functionality, you can see the previous value of a continuous data set. For example, you could look over last month's data to see how much weekly GP your business was earning, and compare it to the current month.
Conversion Metrics
Conversion metrics are typically used to display a measure of input to output (e.g. CVs Sent : 1st Interviews), but can compare any quantity/currency metric to another.
They come in two formats, percentages and ratios, and always compare the first metric you choose to the second metric you choose. For example, CVs Sent : 1st Interviews will compare how many CVs you send for a single 1st Interview. You can access additional information on how Ratios work on OneUp here! π
When using ratios, conversion metrics will always display a simplified ratio.
(e.g: 15:1, rather than 30:2). This can result in decimal ratios.
Metric sub-types
There are 4 sub-types of metric. These allow you to record different kinds of data in a given metric.
Quantity
How many times something has occurred (e.g: Meetings Booked, Deals Done). This is the most frequently used metric type.
Currency
Revenue that can be converted between currencies (e.g: Perm Rev Booked).
Currency (Fixed)
Currency that won't be converted from its original type and any currency will be ignored.
We do not recommend the usage of Currency (Fixed) metrics unless it is absolutely necessary; please visit our article on currency conversion, here, and open a support ticket if you are still unsure.
Duration
An amount of time something has happened for (e.g: Call Duration).
Rolling metrics cannot currently use the duration sub-type.
Creating a new Metric
To create new Metrics, by default, you must have admin permissions on OneUp.
Log into your OneUp dashboard and click the menu icon in the top right. Select Metrics from the dropdown menu.
In the top right of your screen select Create Metric.
Here you have the option to create an Activity, Rolling or Conversion Metric. Ask us if you're unsure which you want to create.
Name your metric.
Under Type decide whether it is a Quantity, Currency, or Duration metric.
If you want to be able to upload manual data against this metric, toggle the Loggable option on. If you want to show your metric from consultants' Dashboards, toggle the Key Metric option on.
If you want existing metrics to feed into your new metric (eg - if you want to create a Total Placements metric, which combines Perm Placements and Contract Placements), you need to add these as Child Metrics, making this metric a Parent Metric. Head over to this article to learn more about this!
Hit Create to save your new metric.
Once you have completed these steps and wish to get data from your CRM, please contact the Support team using our live chat to get this linked up.
If you don't need to pull data from your CRM, or if this is a parent metric then there is no need to do this!
Editing or deleting a Metric
Log into your OneUp dashboard and click the menu icon in the top right. Select Metrics from the dropdown menu.
βOn the Metrics page, find the metric you'd like to edit or delete. You can use the search box to filter metrics at the top left of the page.
βOnce you've found the metric, click the metric's name, or click the menu to the right of the metric name, and choose Edit or Delete.
βMake any required changes in the pop-up window that appears, and once you're happy, click Save.

Tips π‘
If creating a new metric solely for manual data, we recommend appending an '[M]' in the name somewhere. This will make it clear to other members of the team that this metric is only used for manual entry.
βIf you want to combine data from multiple metrics into a single metric, check out this article.
βIf a Metric is deleted, its data will no longer be visible on OneUp. If you'd like to remove a metric from OneUp, ensure it is not currently in use in Competitions or Slideshows as this may result in adverse behaviour on these pages.
Troubleshooting β¨
I've created a metric, but there's no data in it
When metrics are newly created, they don't contain the configuration required to retrieve information from your connected integrations. In order to retrieve automated data from an integration, you'll need to request help with this from our support team.
I'm unable to delete a metric
If you can't delete a metric, you may see a pop-up explaining it's not possible to remove as its data is contained in another metric. To remove the metric, you must first remove its association to the Parent Metric it belongs to. Edit the named Metric and remove the metric to be deleted, then try again.
