Ad position and organic position are not the same thing.

Ad position is where your paid ad shows up in Google search results. You pay Google for this spot.

Organic position is where your website shows up for free. Google decides to show your site because it matches what the person searched for and your SEO is good.

When someone searches for something (this is called a keyword), the results that are not ads are called organic results. These are earned, not bought.

Example:

  • When you search for “best running shoes,” the very top results may have a little “Ad” label — those are paid ads.

  • Below the ads, you’ll see regular results with no label — those are organic results.

Our app shows your organic position for the keywords you track. This tells you how high your site appears in search results without paying for ads.

If the app shows 100+, it means your site isn’t on the first 10 pages of Google yet for that keyword. That’s okay — just keep improving your SEO and check back to see your progress.

Quick recap:

  • Ad position = paid spot in search results

  • Organic position = free spot you earn through SEO
