Add victim information to special-case discipline incidents to support complete and accurate Minnesota DIRS reporting.

Written by Rachel Cox

Use the Edit Discipline Incident page to document victims who are not students with available MARSS information. Most discipline incidents involving enrolled students are managed through the standard discipline record. This page supports rare situations where the victim is not another student in the district, such as a faculty member, staff member, or other non-student victim.

To manage victim information, go to Discipline > Data > Edit Discipline Incident in jmc Office.

Step One: Select a discipline incident from the "Discipline Incident" drop-down list to view or update the associated victim information.

Step Two: Click the "Add Victim" button to add a victim entry to the selected discipline incident.

Step Three: Click the "Edit" button to enter the details for the added victim.

Step Four: Enter the victim’s name in the "Victim Name" field, or indicate that the victim is unknown when identification information is unavailable.

Step Five: Select the appropriate option from the "Victim Type" drop-down list:

  • Student (MARSS information unknown): a student victim without available MARSS information, such as a student from another district

  • Teacher: a teacher in your school district

  • District Employee: an employee in your district who is not a teacher

Step Six: Repeat steps two through five to add additional victims to the selected discipline incident.

Step Seven (optional): Click the "Print" button to generate a printed copy of the victim information or click the "Export" button to download the victim data for reporting or recordkeeping purposes.
