Going for a sensor-free run

Without a sensor, we'll estimate your load using a general model. You can boost the accuracy with a screening by an OnTracx professional or historical sensor-based runs.

Updated this week

Running without the OnTracx sensor and still tracking load data is possible. In that case, OnTracx will show an estimated load (instead of a measured load) using a general model and you can improve the accuracy of that estimate by:

  • Completing an OnTracx Load Screening with guidance from a professional

  • Adding historical sensor-based runs to your account

Because this load is estimated, it’s inherently less precise than sensor-measured load. Still, internal testing shows the estimates can be highly accurate for cumulative session load when they’re informed by a screening and/or historical sensor runs making sensor-free runs a practical way to keep your progression chart complete when you don’t want to wear your sensor every time.
