Order Editing Dashboard & Analytics

The Order Editing Dashboard gives you an overview of how customers are using Order Editing across your store. Use it to understand editing patterns, measure the impact on your business, and fine-tune your settings.

Navigate to Order Editing > Dashboard in the Onward merchant dashboard.

Accessing the Dashboard

The dashboard is powered by an embedded analytics platform that loads your store's Order Editing data. When you open the dashboard, you'll see interactive charts and metrics ready to explore.

What to Look For

Editing Volume

How many orders are being edited? Track this over time to understand:

  • Whether customers are actively using the editing feature.

  • How editing volume correlates with order volume (e.g., do more orders get edited during sales events?).

  • Trends after changing your editing deadline or enabling new features.

Edit Types

See what kinds of edits customers are making most often:

  • Address changes — High volume here suggests customers frequently make address mistakes at checkout. Consider if your checkout flow could be improved.

  • Quantity changes — Common when customers add or remove items. This is healthy usage.

  • Variant swaps — Frequent swaps may indicate customers aren't sure about sizing or color options. Better product descriptions or sizing guides could help.

  • Upsell additions — Track how many customers are adding upsell products. This directly impacts your average order value.

Financial Impact

Understand how editing affects your revenue:

  • Upsell revenue — How much additional revenue is generated from post-purchase product additions.

  • Refund volume — How much is being refunded due to item removals or quantity reductions.

  • Net impact — Whether Order Editing is a net positive for your bottom line (upsells and additional items typically outweigh removals).

Cancellation Rate

If cancellations are enabled, monitor how often customers cancel their orders through editing. A high cancellation rate might signal issues with your products, pricing, or checkout experience.

Using Analytics to Optimize

Adjust Your Editing Deadline

  • If very few orders are edited, customers may not have enough time. Try increasing the deadline.

  • If many edits happen in the first few minutes and none after, you might be able to shorten the deadline without impacting the customer experience.

Optimize Your Upsell Collection

  • Check which upsell products are being added most.

  • Rotate products in your upsell collection based on performance.

  • Experiment with different discount percentages and measure the impact on upsell conversion.

Decide Which Features to Enable

  • If you're not seeing address edits, you could keep the feature on (low cost to you) or disable it to simplify the interface.

  • If variant swaps are popular, that's a sign the feature is valuable to your customers.

  • If cancellations are rare, enabling the feature is low-risk and improves the customer experience.
