Adding Smart Blocks with Conditions

Step 1:

Go to the left-side navigation menu, hover over the hammer icon, and select Smart Blocks. If you want to use a shortcut, you can simply hit CTRL + S on your keyboard and it will open the Smart Blocks section.

Step 2:

Once you're on the Smart Blocks section, click Add Smart Block.

Step 3:

Enter the Smart Block Name and then copy and paste the name into the Smart Block Merge Field. Now that those two sections are filled in, click the Add button.

Step 4:

From the message block, start typing what you want to include in your smart block and click the blue bullet point icon to open the merge fields. Once the merge field window opens, you can start copying fields, contact roles, etc., and paste them into the message block.

Step 5:

To add conditions, click + Add Condition and it will open the left side panel for the conditional type. There are three types of conditionals which are Property Field, Contact Role, and File Role.

Step 6:

Select a property field, contact role, or file role then choose Operator from the drop-down. You can also enter a value, if applicable, or leave it blank. Once all of the sections are filled in, click Add.

Step 7:

You can also create a Child Condition by clicking on the blue Field, Contact Role, or File Role. This will open the conditional menu which shows, Important: You're creating a child conditional.

After adding a child condition, it will be indented under the original condition. You can have multiple conditions or child conditions depending on what your smart block is about.

IMPORTANT:

Conditions will not work successfully if you create conditions for multiple options on a multiple-choice field.
