What is Add-ons?
This module adds a customizable field to the checkout box, allowing merchants to offer services like Shipping Protection or Gift Wrapping. It can also be customized to any additional service via the Products section.
The feature works by creating a new product in your store with the name equal to the type that you choose. Thus the product will be visible from the store front.

How to set it up?
1/ Go to Add-ons.
2/ Select the add-on you want to offer (Shipping Protection or Gift Wrapping)
3/ Configure your add-on:
Update the Title and Description directly in the settings or in the Products section within your Shopify admin.
Show default product image
or upload your own image.
Price Settings
Fixed Price: A set amount charged for the additional product
Percentage Price: A dynamic charge based on order value
Initial Amount: The minimum charge, applied if the calculated percentage is lower than this value.
Percentage of Order Value: The percentage of the order total to charge.
Incremental Rates: Adjusts the charge in increments (up to 99 values). Each variant defaults to an increment of $0.5.
This add-on will create a product with 100 variants in your store with the formula:
Final Charge=Initial Amount+(n×Incremental Rate)
(n = ordinal number of the variant closest to the percentage of the order value)
Example:
Shipping Protection is 10% of the order value, with a $5 minimum and $5 incremental rate. If the order is $2995, the charge would be $300.
Tier Price: Allow setting add-on prices based on total order value, offering discounts or custom pricing to encourage larger purchases.
Example:
Order value is $100, the charge would be $2 but as the order value goes up to $200, the charge would be $4 according to the screenshot
Advanced Options
Auto-fulfill additional products: Automatically marks additional products as fulfilled after purchase.
Counting this item in rewards bar: Includes these items in the total calculation for reward eligibility.
You can add other add-ons with different setup in these settings also.
Click "Save" to finalize the setup.
