đ± Mobile Point-of-Sale (POS): Online Mobile Swipe (OMS) is Edlio Pay's dedicated mobile payment application for iOS devices. It enables school staff, athletic directors, club sponsors, and parent volunteers to accept in-person credit card, cash, and check payments on-the-go at school events, athletic gates, concessions, book fairs, and fundraisers.
What is Online Mobile Swipe (OMS)?
Online Mobile Swipe (OMS) transforms an Apple iPhone or iPad into a portable point-of-sale terminal. Working as an extension of your central Edlio Payments (OSP) catalog, OMS allows staff to process transactions anywhere on campus or at away events, providing instant electronic receipts via SMS text or email.
All transactions processed in the mobile app flow automatically into the central Management Portal, allowing bookkeepers to track inventory, reconcile bank deposits, and generate comprehensive audit reports from a single dashboard.
Hardware & Software Requirements
Apple iOS Device: An iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch running updated iOS/iPadOS. The free OMS Payment App is available directly from the Apple App Store (search for "OMS Payment App").
Network Connectivity: A stable cellular data connection, campus Wi-Fi, or personal hotspot.
Bluetooth EMV Card Reader (Optional): To accept contactless (tap), chip (dip), and magnetic stripe (swipe) credit cards, schools use a compatible Bluetooth card reader.
Platform Compatibility: Bluetooth card reader integration is currently optimized and certified exclusively for Apple iOS devices. Android devices cannot connect to the Bluetooth card reader hardware.
Manual Keypad Entry (Fallback): If card reader hardware is unavailable, card payments can be entered directly using the on-screen keypad (card number, expiration date, cardholder name, and CVV).
Connecting Your Bluetooth Card Reader
Follow these steps to pair a Bluetooth card reader with the OMS app on an iPhone or iPad:
Power on the card reader. Ensure the indicator light flashes blue, signaling it is in Bluetooth standby pairing mode.
Open the OMS Payment App on your iOS device and log in.
Add any item to the cart and tap Checkout to reach the payment screen.
When prompted, allow the iOS permission request: "OMS Would Like to Use Bluetooth".
Tap the Card / Reader icon. The app searches for nearby devices.
Select your card reader from the list to establish a secure connection.
Once connected, the reader is ready to process transactions.
đł Chipped Card Rule: All modern payment cards containing an EMV security chip must be inserted (dipped) into the chip slot, not swiped. Swiping a chip card will prompt the reader to reject the swipe and instruct you to insert the chip.
User Account Roles in OMS
To safeguard administrative authority while empowering event volunteers, OMS utilizes two account models:
Bookkeeper & Administrator Accounts: School bookkeepers log into OMS using their standard Management Portal credentials. Bookkeepers have access to all campus products, sales reports, and can process in-app voids. Never share your personal bookkeeper credentials with temporary volunteers or staff.
Generic School Accounts for Teachers & Volunteers: For ticket sellers, concession workers, and club volunteers, Edlio provides dedicated generic school accounts (e.g., ticket seller logins). These accounts allow staff to sell items and issue receipts without granting administrative access to financial settings or bank records. Bookkeepers can request additional generic event accounts by contacting Edlio Support.
