Public Teams Widget

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Full Admins, Registrars, Schedulers, and Directors with permissions can create Public Team widgets, giving organizations greater control over the visibility of Public Team views within the existing website widgets. The Public Team widget offers flexibility in managing how team information is shared publicly, with options to show roster details, game schedules, and standings.

Configuring the Public Teams Widget

1. On the navigation, select Settings > Teams > under the Display Options section, there is an option to ‘Allow Teams to be publicly visible within the Website Widget’. The default for this configuration is set to Yes.

  • Note: Inherit/Override capabilities are available at Site, Program, Season, and Grouping levels. Use the program and season drop-down menus to manage this configuration for the different levels.

2. Next, from the navigation select Programs > choose your program and season, then click Seasonal Management (Seasonal Mgnmt).

3. Click on the edit button at the Season/Grouping levels > click Permissions > scroll to the Public Permission heading and set ‘Allow Rostered Staff to be publicly visible (only names and roles) to Yes/No, and 'Allow Rostered Players to be publicly visible (only names and uniform numbers)' to Yes/No. The default for these configurations is set to Yes.

4. Once saved, from any public website widget (Standings, Accepted Teams, or Schedules), team names are now clickable and linked to a public team view when the ‘Seasonal Team Widget Visibility’ is enabled per seasonal team.

Viewing the Public Teams Widget

When the ‘Seasonal Team Widget Visibility’ setting is Yes for a seasonal team, team names in public website widgets become clickable links, directing users to a new Public Team View. The Public Teams Widget resembles the Team Page interface seen when users log in to their accounts.
