Scan backwards for dates when scheduling

Updated over 3 months ago

Leagues can already have the scheduling system scan ahead one or more days when creating a schedule so games fall on dates in the future if field space is full. Now, you can tell the system to look back a day or more.

For example, if you want all games to be scheduled on Sunday but then the leftover games should be placed on Saturday, you would place a -1 in the Scan Fwd box in the season structure wizard. Using this same example, the dates in the Date Group would only list Sunday dates. The field permits would include field space for both Sunday and Saturday's.

To replicate these steps, first go the Season Structure Wizard. Click Edit All Settings. Enter the number of days the system should look ahead or behind in the Scan Fwd box. Remember, if the system should look at previous days rather than future days, enter a negative number in the box. Save your changes. Your date groups should only include the first date of the week where games occur. In the example above, games were supposed to fall on a Sunday and then Saturday if there wasn't enough space, so the date group only includes Sunday dates. The field permits should include all days of the week where games can occur.
